Tougher?

Lets see

Philly Union x 2 - yup tough

NYC x 1 - they been hot and cold - will know better tomorrow

NYRB X 2 - just fired their coach and no post firing bounce

Cinci x 1 - Oh please - yes on turf but that midfield isn't going to keep ours at bay

NER x 1 - Tricky, especially at their place

ATL - people seen them lately? They are us in 2018

We'll see how our depth holds up! CB depth is definitely worrying...We'll have to get used to sub-par line-ups being trotted out, but I actually have some confidence we'll grind out results, we just won't be as dominant as we would like, which means game threads should be "fun". :(

I second this. Exactly what I think. We will see Vanney trying to make it work with all the different variables that come up with fitness/injuries/playing time and it won't always look like we expect to see and often times it will not be very pretty but it is what it is right now with the current situation. At least we have some TFC footy to watch.

One benefit of this schedule is how little travel TFC has. The longest flight is to Cinci which is likely only 1-1.5 hours. This is better than cross country flights down to LA, Orlando or Vancouver and hopefully puts less stress on the players.

Consistent weather too as well as avoiding the long flights and time change. No super hot games in Houston/Dallas/Orlando/Miami which are always tough when added to a physically fatiguing schedule. Hopefully we come away with the benefit of reduction in injuries. More time to recuperate after games.

MLS had to deal with some of the state to state travel quarantine requirements that currently exist right now. The Reds do not have road game in a state that the State of Connecticut currently requires 14 day quarantine when traveling from into the state TFC are currently calling home. Miami is playing at the Reds in Hartford but you are only required to quarantine if you are in the state for more than 24 hours. Further looking at it, they must have gotten some exemptions for teams as the Red Bulls have games at both Orlando and Miami in this phase. Not knowing the specifics I would think they got them on being in and out trips.

But we're a lot less fit than everyone else. We'll be getting hammered by week three and the excuses about the schedule will come up again.

I wonder if we are really outright less fit or if it’s really a matter of us buying all these guys with nagging injuries and then insisting our trainers are sooooo great it will keep them healthy.

If it’s training, I’ll give them a pass on this year as the schedule is bonkers. When the NBA has a shorter, condensed season post lockout it really hammered a lot of guys hard.

Not sure about that less fit thing - take a peek around the pre game list for outs & questionables and we are higher then some but quite a few other teams have the same amount. Everybody is talking about the schedule - it is what it is for everybody.
