I'm usually super excited and pumped because it's game day but really I just don't know how to feel about the team lately. Don't get me wrong we are high in the standings and doing fairly well..but man oh man those last two games. Not sure what to expect from tonight's match-up, I want to say TFC will come out of the gates flying. I think again we will no doubt control possession, it's how we find ways of finishing that worries me. That and our back line, and set pieces maybe they at least talked about it in the dressing room. Either way it should be a good game, both with lots to gain and lose from the win. COYR let's get this one!

Yep Laryea has that ability to wiggle his way around people and like we saw last year it's almost as if he was trying to walk it into the net and not shoot. I'm so glad that he is shooting more, I prefer him on the left side where he can continue to develop on that side but he has a strong right foot to cut in on. Just listened to footy talks and they said he should be available off the bench. The said Mavinga should be good and that they mostly kept him off because of the turf. Mullins is still a no go, so hopefully Jozy will step up and show something this season. I don't see Ciman, Zavs or bono getting in tonight though. Goals were not all on Westberg, except maybe the one last week that he put out for a corner where he could have just dumped it down field instead (very unlike him)

^Layrea’s play deserves more recognition this year. He’s been really good, top to bottom.

As a general comment, I think this team needs more speed. If you look at our typical starters 1 through 11, Layrea and Mavinga are the only guys you would outright call fast. Otherwise we field a large number of average or outright slow players. And that’s fine in each individual case, lots of skill to make up for that lack of speed. But collectively, as a group, there needs to be more pace.

Pointedly, I look at Pozuelo, Osorio, Delgado, and Bradley as a midfield and think something there has to change, especially now that Bradley isn’t quite as dominant in the centre of the park as he used to be (but is still very good).

Just watched the replay. It’s seriously wrong. Tiny deflection, a lot less than can occur and still give someone credit for a goal. Whoever made that decision needs to give their head a shake. And it should be overturned, if it means anything to Richie ie bonus

disagree ... go back and watch him against Columbus in the 2017 conference final. He is clearly injured, refused to come off until he scored. He is all TFC If Jozy isn’t 100%, then something isn’t right. If he has become disinterested in playing for us ( I don’t believe that) Something else has to have happened. This was 3 years ago. Hang his jersey sure. But he can’t keep riding the goodwill of this goal versus C-bus and the one in the final. The events you describe were ages ago and do not reasonably predict or provide cause for actions in the present and near future.

Not sure if others saw this from the Sun piece yesterday, but at least explains a bit of what's going on with Jozy I wasn't specifically aware of:

I saw that too and went back to watch his strike...it was missing the target but because it deflected off of an opponent he was able to get the shot on target lol. His career stats are 145 shots and 38 on target

He can't be blamed for the team re-signing him at the rate and the timing didn't demand that needed to do what MB did (not sure if he would have but again that is just me randomly speculating). We need to find a way to keep Jozy on the field and in games. (if management needs to get his head in to it like people are speculating, then management do your job)

We also need a genuine back-up. Akinola might be the guy but that is still a flyer. I did like the activity he created beside Jozy last night. Mullins is not, no disrespect

Loved seeing Richie on the left, changed the size of the pitch. Need a reliable 3rd defender and a genuine back-up striker, while Akinola or Achara grow into it.

We may need to transition from Jozy but the lack of depth or his contract is not his fault. Other than the one Friday game, I have no indication other than our boards internal guessing of why he wasn't playing.

This was me. I switched over to the Raptors game at half-time and saw the last 3 minutes + overtimes. Don't regret it, but regretted coming back the game to see the Reds tied. Deleon needs some credit on that nicely-weighted ball over the top to Altidore on a platter. He sure has his moments of brilliance.

The really wild part is this is the league that gives hockey assists. If a secondary assist is an assist, then that HAS to count for Richie.
