No team gets a bye to the semi-final even though there's one less team involved because of the folding of Ottawa Fury.

Toronto FC's Quarterfinal Round opponent is the winner of CPL York 9 FC and L1O Masters FA (from Scarborough)
Canada Soccer this year is keeping it regional.

Semi-final Round opponent will likely be Montreal.

All seems good.

Looks like they set the left bracket as West and right bracket as East. Can understand the reasoning logistically. But its not really fair on the balance since there are 2 East MLS teams and only 1 West MLS team. Vancouver gets an unearned walk to the final every year.

Considering Vancouver didn't make it to the semis last year...

Vancouver has to get through Forge, which will be tough.

Looking forward to the 427 derby (terrible, I know) though between Y9 and TFC.

I like the bracket but don't like how they seeded the MLS teams. As defending champs, Montreal should have an easier path than Vancouver.

It's because they segregated the teams by regions

I get that and it does make financial sense (reducing travel costs and potential derby matches) but in terms of the competition, my preference would be the highest seeds get the easier draws.

Looking forward to the 427 derby (terrible, I know) though between Y9 and TFC.Great schedule.

Though with 43 km driving up 427 and back east of the 400, and 21 km just driving up Parkside/Keele, perhaps there are better names. I'll be taking Line 1 personally - the York 9 stadium is just outside the south entrance to Pioneer Village station. Though the Scarborough team would be fun too.

Keele derby? Subway derby? Line 1 derby? 416 derby? Toronto derby?

As a season ticket holder for TFC and York9, if that game happens that will be hard knowing who to support?!

With only a handful of Canadians and us needing to start 3 each game none of our guys better get hurt otherwise TFC2 players will be called up. Assuming go to guys will be Osorio, Laryea and Fraser if healthy. Akinola, Okello and Dunn as backup starters going by the current roster if the other 3 are scratches for any reason.

Masters' home game will be at Ontario Soccer Centre in Vaughan (Martin Grove north of Steeles Ave West) because L'Amoreaux Park in Scarborough (Finch and Birchmount) doesn't have the facilities to hold the crowd (yeah even York 9 fans!). Masters won the L1O Championship at OSC against FC London back in October.

I might consider a York 9 derby road trip but given the overpriced York 9 pricing structure, I wonder how much it will cost.

They dropped the price of season tickets significantly for 2020.

Cool...now lets see if they drop the single game tickets- they were asking over $50 for some of those games and I could see them attempt to gouge on this one (assuming they go through).

If York9 were smart, they'd make them all no more then $35 and pack out the place hoping to draw TFC fans to another option for a cool atmosphere.

Oh they dropped the single game price last season, it was $15 for the VCup match vs MTL.

Have to agree York derby makes most sense

GTA derby is probably best reserved for when Mississauga gets a team

Technically York9 is 905 team who happens to play at York university until they build their stadium in York region. They don't represent 416 Toronto at all.

Yeah I was looking forward to checking the team out and going to a few games then I saw the ticket prices and that was the end of that discussion. Seems like a bad business model, personally I assumed they'd go the Wolfpack approach of make it cheap as hell in the early years to build a loyal support but maybe they needed to make more money up front. Either way I'm not paying $50 to watch CPL level soccer and I'm sure many others who would have went, and potentially got hooked, felt the same way

They play in Toronto, right next to a subway station. I'll be travelling there less frequently if they move further out. I'm not convinced they'll last long enough to start building stadiums.

I don't know why they don't just embrace being north York's team and playing at yorku.

With the possibility of Ottawa back in CPL for this season do you think there is any chance they would be participating in the Can Champs also?

I would think they would have a play in match vs D3 Blaineville with a spot in the opening round on the line.
