Very interesting article, but there's something Carver said that got me thinking:

When pressed by CBCSports.ca about the identity of the forward, Carver declined to comment, saying only that the delay in a deal being reached is coming from the other team's end.

If it were Dickov or Gerba, why would there be delay from another team? They are both free agents. Which means this player could be coming on loan or being transferred.

or it could be the way the articles written. Discuss

Shit reporting.

When pressed about the hold-up, Carver responds "its from their end", "it's from the other side".

Never did Carver mention anything about a team.

Yeah, I took him to mean he was talking about Dickov's agent, who has shown himself to be somewhat troublesome in the last couple of months.

Yeah I guess were just going to have to wait. It almost sounded like Carver was talking about another striker though.....

As someone already mentioned Carver said the hold up was from the "other end".
If I'm not mistaken I believe he then said the player was from "the other side" as in from the other side of the pond. (ie europe)

did i hear him say in post game that the player is in the MLS right now?

The 'other side' could just mean Dickov/Gerba or their agents. We already know Gerba has been fishing for a lot of money.

We need 2 strikers, and 1 more defender.

The 2 strikers are needed if Cunny is shipped out. If there is competition for places up front, maybe players will hit the back of the net.

I preferred the off-season cone of silence - none of this rampant speculation
Like everything else, action speak louder than words
Carver & Johnston have jobs to do, ..... they talk the talk pretty good

It's deja vu... all over again! Rumours and more rumours... they never seem to stop and rarely prove to be true.

It was that tingly feeling I had after the third or fourth game this season, accompanied by visions of men in red holding up a big cup with streamers on it.

Don't worry, that feeling is completely gone now.

You did see it, they were called the Redwings and/or Manchester United. ( Minus the Streamers)
