Dealing with no deals
Not only does TFC fail to get help, it has to face Dallas' star striker

Toronto FC head coach John Carver was hoping for another big deal to go down prior to this afternoon's game against FC Dallas.
Sure, Carver was hoping that TFC manager Mo Johnston would have pulled the trigger on a deal that would have brought the struggling Reds another striker (joining newly acquired Chad Barrett) and a defender.
That other deal he was hoping would come to fruition was a rumour he had heard during the MLS all-star festivities in Toronto two weeks ago. There was talk that Dallas FC was going to sell striker extraordinaire Kenny Cooper to Cardiff City FC. Unfortunately for Carver, that never happened, and now the Reds will have to contend with the American star today at BMO Field.
"Kenny has been outstanding and I was hoping he was off to Cardiff before our game because I heard the rumours at the all-star game that he was going," Carver said. "I nearly rang (Cardiff manager) Dave Jones up myself and said: 'Make sure you take him before we play them.' "
