".....That presentation has been threatened as of late by Gridiron interests eying these new stadiums with designs of their own.

The first of these was the still(yet to be)born "All American Football League" which planned(plans?) to use Crew Stadium for a Columbus based franchise."

I wouldn't read much into this report. First off the AAFL has yet to play a down or even have training camps, and they've already postponed the opening of their season to next year...

http://www.allamericanfootballleague.com/2009SeasonPR.php... not a good sign for a new league. Second, Columbus doesn't even have a team in the AAFL...yet

http://www.allamericanfootballleague.com/teams.php

...but still even IF the AAFL comes to life and Columbus gets a team at Crew stadium I don't think it will amount to alot.

AAFL was going to lease Ford Field for their Detroit franchise but broke the contract when the league couldn't stay on schedule. The stadium is suing for the loss of revenue, so I'd say AAFL is not starting off in a promising way.
