The MLS champ goes to the White House every year just like all the other sports, right?

Are they planning for TFC to go to Ottawa to meet the PM?

That would be the first time a pro sports team (minus the CFL, of course) went to Parliament Hill since the 93 Jays, right?

Like in a lot of countries, this is not traditionally done in Canada. NHL winners never did it, for example.

In Canada it's the Governor General that does ceremonial stuff like this (freeing the PM to do real work). However, it doesn't seem to be done for sports teams, more for literary and cultural figures, as well as for the Order of Canada.

However TFC did get to meet the mayor and city council.

I saw on sportsnet the other day that the winners of the Canadian Women's Hockey League met Trudeau recently

Trudeau did a visit with the Clarkson Cup winning team from Markham.

Never liked the idea of championship teams going to the White House to get honored by the president. Nothing but a jock sniffing photo-op for whoevers sitting in the Oval Office. But with the recent trend of key players on teams not wanting to show up to meet Drumpf, or the Diaperbaby in Chief refusing to invite teams because they just want to send a few people over including the mascot - like the Philadelphia Eagles just did, then maybe this tradition will die a quick death. I won't hold my breath mind you.

I wonder what type of food they serve to players in the Whitehouse

Not the same thing.

It would make more sense for Toronto FC to go to the white house. However they won't.

Checks off all the boxes for Trudeau.
Namely - selfie opportunity - check.
