No pressure

Toronto fans have nothing to worry about. Those were the words of striker Chad Barrett when discussing his new team's chances of making the playoffs.

Barrett, who finally worked out with TFC Friday morning after the much-delayed completion of the Brian McBride deal, claims he feels no pressure to score for the Reds. In fact, he says he relishes the opportunity. He says that's what he's here for.

He looks a little like Wayne Rooney, if you ask. He may not take that as a compliment, but if he can find the back of the net like the Manchester United man, then everyone will be happy.

Head coach John Carver says the Barrett acquisition is just the first part of a two-stage process. There’s another striker to come, hopefully within the next 48 hours according to the boss. Where that player will come from is anyone's guess. It might be Paul Dickov. Maybe not. All Carver felt like saying on this day, is that said striker is playing "somewhere in the world." That covers a sizeable amount of territory.

We're tired of rumours, anyway. Call me when it’s done.
