Cheyrou will remain with the team to work with its academy.

“It has been an absolute pleasure for me to be a part of this team for three years. I am blessed to finish my career with the Treble and I am very proud of that,” said Cheyrou in a press release. “I would like to thank everyone at the club and in the wonderful city of Toronto that have supported me during my time at Toronto FC. I will now be the biggest fan of Toronto FC and I wish the club all the best.”

Cheyrou joined Toronto FC in 2015 and made 68 appearances over three seasons with the club. He scored five goals and nine assists.
Before moving to the MLS, he spent the first 16 years of his career in his native France. Among his accomplishments there, he won a Ligue 1 title with Marseille during the 2009-10 season.

Happy he's got a role on the academy. Seems like a quality guy and could give loads of knowledge to the youth. Way to go out on top Benoit!

He was a good addition to the team.
I bet he had a lot of influence on the young players.
And he scored one of my favourite Toronto goals.
I hope he has great success in the next stage of his career.

He was our large part of our transformation to an organized competitive team. Hope we have a change of saying goodbye, although we kind of did at the parade.

So glad he's staying, one of the best TFC players.

Last goal of the season: Vanney has just subbed on Cheyrou in injury time (classy move). Despite running non-stop all game, Vazquez races to pressure the Seattle player bringing the ball out of the back, forcing a pass which CHEYROU intercepts, to setup the insurance goal and general pandemonium:

So many other TFC players have thanked Benoît today, and have mentioned what a great influence, great teacher, great guy he is.

The club is really building such a strong legacy. They're able to have guys like Benoit want to stay around after retirement to work there.

Building quality all up and down the organization. It bodes so well for the future.

When we had players away for int'l duty, we didn't miss a beat; a large part due to Benoit being able to step in and play the midfield and at times also "captain" the team. A very classy individual who I always felt that things were in control when he was on the pitch. Best wishes to him!

His header in last year's Eastern Final against Montreal will always make him a legend in our minds. God love ya, Benoit!

Bittersweet. I was hoping he would play one more year, but it's great to keep a quality individual like him with the organization.

Thank you Benoit for playing an important role in the transformation of the club. I'm glad he was able to stay with the organization. He will be TFC2 much success I believe.
