Great song choice and I agree with your estimation of her skills.

So do we pound montreal out of the playoffs or do they get our number and screw with out shield race.....this is the question.

hopefully we score bucket fulls and smack a few balls off their bell for good measure.

This is absolutely brilliant. Nothing would make me happier than being the team to flat line their playoff hopes over the next 3 matches with them.

Montreal get many of their goals and opportunities off of fast breaks, or at least against defenses that are not compact. Vs TFC, I think they'll be quite content to sit back, bunker, and hit Toronto on the counter, at least for stretches of the game. TFC have shown they can be vulnerable to these offensive & defensive approaches. Let's see if Vanney and Co come up with a game plan today to effectively counteract that.

I still can't believe the week SL has had since losing 3-1 to Montreal. But we're no SL, either. This match should be a lot closer in score.

What can you say...? Another absolutely awesome display from our Reds. I must confess I was a little nervous about this tie, what with it being a derby and all that brings with it. I need not have worried. Once more TFC controlled things from start to finish and i'm glad Seba nail that third because a two goal victory was the least we deserved. You cant overlook a two goal contribution so Seba has to be MOTM but I thought that once again we saw a stellar display from the Captain, along with a great shift from Moor, Bono, and Morrow

Onward and upwards TFC!! ...and here's hoping Bradley & Altidore stay safe on International duty

Beyond the obvious celebration of the win, can I just point out how stylish this game looked (beyond the coverage missing the Jozy goal)?

1. Both teams have very nice, not mickey mouse, kits.
2. That stadium is very pretty. (And this isn't a commentary on our house, which I love to bits.)
3. The crowd is very into it, and it is audible. And it helps to have serious away support.
4. The soccer is technically pretty nice. Not as certain as top flight Euro/England stuff, but lovely to watch.

The only complaint I have about BMO Field is that I wish the stands were full at kickoff. Otherwise our TV presentation is equal to or better than Montreal.

But this was a lovely game to behold, for a neutral. I think this is exactly the product TSN is looking for.

One thing to worry about for our next two games against them is Piatti. Man he has class. Piette put in a shift as well. Hopefully we can deny them a playoff spot because just to limit a potential clash in the post season where who knows what will happen.

James17930

Just watching the highlights ... I don't think Oduro's knee to Bono was intentional, or even lazy. Bono actually dives forward into him right at the last moment and you can tell that Oduro isn't expecting it at all, and he really doesn't have time to get out of the way. In the slo-mo replay you can even see the look of surprise on his face. So I'm glad Bono's okay, and I don't think it needs to be made a big deal of.

My main concern 5 games ago was that Seba wasn't looking right, and that it was more important to get that sorted than to win games.

Right now my main concern is: are we watching the MLS equivalent of the Golden State Warriors, and don't realize it?

Seba has found his shooting boots from free kicks..that is for sure. If he get's back to his best form from the last two years and Alti hit's his stride...well we might be looking at a double. I thought we strolled Montreal today and we didn't see the the best TFC. The beauty of this team is that the rest of the players are brilliant...we have 16+ very good players and they are fit for the most part.

I'm old enough to remember when the Jays started , and the media was behind them from the start , baseball was getting good coverage in Toronto even before the Jays, no comparison with the many people in mainstream media who more or less ignored this team for the longest time, and still do to a certain extent I listened to prime time sports last Friday on sportsnet and not a word on TFC but actually had some CFL talk lol, the Jays were never ignored the way TFC was and still is sometimes today in their early days no comparison, sorry.

after the third goal I saw security rushing down the aisle behind the goal and someone was throwing serious punches downwards. WTF happened there?

you get a glimpse of it here after 12 seconds but in game there was a closer shot of the players celebrating and the goings on in the stands are quite apparent.

The only thing I didn't like was that Osorio looks out of place. The control of the ball the team exhibits was exemplary, as they moved it around looking for an opening. Whenever it got to Osorio, it immediately was in peril. He looked way less confident on the ball than basically anyone else.

I was around then too.

CTV & the CBC loved them because they had the games.....radio and print less so. And a lot of columnists thought it was a fad that was never going to be as big as the CFL.

Not sure what the fracas was over but one of the ineb's got ejected. Then there was drama with the 30 minute holding period because ineb's were worried he'd be targeted outside the gates and security wouldn't let anyone out to check on him.

Everyone was rather agitated. The holding period isn't a problem but some common sense needs to prevail on both sides...like seriously if there are people who need to use a washroom security needs to just escort them down and back. On the other hand people need to just accept they are going to hold you and if you're not willing to wait it out buy your tickets and sit else where.

The port-a-potty situation by half time was disgusting I don't know who thought that brilliant idea up.

Otherwise it was a fantastic day out and a glorious win!

He was very good on Wednesday, very good. I think he is pressing for a starting role in training, as he is Vanneys number one sub these day.

watched piattis goal again.

bradley chews a piece off osorio for not blcoking that

the standard is very high now

Oso looked like he was too aggressive in closing down Piatti. On the other hand, he was in the wall. Someone else should have been marking Piatti before that, I would have thought. And over aggression from someone fighting to regain a starting role is understandable if not acceptable.

yah, i dont see what else he should have done. too many guys in the box at that point and seba was closing the passing lane. But knowing how good Piatti is, if I were Seba, would have double teamed him

Hes been great two game straight.

This is the way is should be when competing for a starting role

I thought he was good both games but especially Wednesday. Getting turned by piatti on the goal is unfortunate but piatti has done that to plenty of people.

Maybe it's worth noting the 4-4-2 suits him better? When he gets pulled to those wide positions, especially defending, he looks uncomfortable.

Very comprehensive win....this team is on fire, with no signs of slowing down.

I think what impresses me most is the professionalism of the whole organization, from players straight up to management....after what we've seen and been through all these years, I wasn't sure if this team could ever be.

And as much as some have called him a big mouth and such, credit here goes to Leiweke....I made a point to call him over when I seen him at the MLS Final last year to thank him and tell him TFC was there because of him.
And shame he's not around anymore, but he definitely keeps an eye on TFC.

My main concern 5 games ago was that Seba wasn't looking right, and that it was more important to get that sorted than to win games.

Right now my main concern is: are we watching the MLS equivalent of the Golden State Warriors, and don't realize it?

I've been saying this for a couple of weeks now....and I get that it is in the context of MLS, but damn, they are such a class above right now....

Yeah I thought he looked better on Wednesday as well. Still, I think he's the best midfield option coming off the bench when we're leading - he's responsible positionally and great at keeping possession when we want to control the tempo. Edwards and Chapman are a bit more dynamic when attacking so are better subs when we need a goal. So nice to have choices.

I think Biello has been somewhat poor. Mancousu continuing to start over Jackson-Hamel feels more like politics and less like merit. One provides a clear reference point and the occasional goal, the other.... still trying to figure that out. Duvall putting in crosses gave me memories of Endoh. It was predictable and the quality of the service was poor.

Anyway, I digress. Still think that's the best game anyone has given us in a while though. Maybe NYC would have been better if not for Pirlo and some absences.

I has never been to Stade Saputo before yesterday. What an absolute nightmare of a stadium. The bathrooms are trailers, the stadium is surrounded by gravel and hills. It's a horrendous layout within the stadium. The impact players walk through the stands to get out to there parking area which is yet again on gravel. It was quite comical watching BMW, Porsche, Audi, and Mercedes driving away throwing up gravel at each other. What a Mickey Mouse setup they have there.

This was my first to Stade Saputo. I agree with all the above. It looks great on TV, but is really a crappy cheap poorly constructed stadium in person. It's only redeeming features are that the roof reflects sound well, and the pitch is really excellent for the players (and not ground shared with the Allouttes). By contrast, the Charleston Battery (who we used to visit for preseason play) have a much nicer cheap stadium.

The mob is involved in a lot of construction in Montréal, and that means a lot of construction has a "tax" on it and consequently is worse built. Joey doesn't seem to have mob connections himself, but he does not have the resources of MLSE and was even trying to haggle down his franchise fee when they entered MLS. The Impact are more a rich guy's play thing than a serious business.

I dunno....Colorado had quite the strategy against us and stole a point.....they weren't lying down on the job.

but seriously that was a great game to watch. attacking/defending on both sides made it a good football match. The ending was spectacular. Only thing better would be to cause total mayhem by taking ball out of the net and tossing/kicking it at the bell.....could you imagine the complete loss of shit from the limpact ooltras.

Saputo Stadium is beautiful at field level/in the stands. Its behind the stands in the concourse where you realize how minor league it is. It really wasn't that much of an upgrade from their USL facility.

I would chime in that Osorio is a perfect good MLS talent, it's just that half our roster is better than MLS which makes him look a step behind. Seb/Jozy/MB/Vazquez and arguably a couple more, could play in leagues of overall higher quality than MLS.

This is a team that is going to have to give Piatti a $2,000,000 (earned) raise to keep him, yet their stadium is in this shape. Adios amigo!

I've been to the Montreal Stadium several times. It was a lot worse back in 2012 when it was still under construction. The Northeast family corner is where I'd go with my son to take advantage of the cheaper seats for U16s there. They actually have washrooms up there. But honestly, it doesn't look that different from the LAG Stubhub Center when I went to a game last year visiting California (sat on bleachers). Stade Saputo has better seating options and the sound reflects better there. And the atmosphere is top notch - you have to give them credit for that.

This report of Saputo's poor quality is unfortunate. Montreal was always my favourite away venue (before MLS). There were no rules (smoking in the stands was tolerated), no security (police not allowed on grounds, and they had like 12 keystone cop security guards who would run from one pyro to the next) and they served glasses of wine all over the place. Hell the Limpact supporters even had the decency to make pinatas of themselves for us, complete with the wimpiest violence to justify our self-defence. Ahhhhhhhhh...such fun memories. Even the CMNT massacre (only 2-1, but getting beat by Amado Guevara felt like a massacre) by Honduras in 2008 was an entertaining event to attend.

It looks really good on TV, but is bad in person. The worst part is that when people want to go for a smoke at half-time, they make you stand in this smoker's pen kind of thing, where away fans are surrounded by home fans and if potentially something can kick off. Add in their trailer washrooms and this makes for a pretty bad venue. I will always love Montreal away days though!

let me chime in on a few things:

- Osario sucks
- Stade Suputo is horrible and not considered a real stadium in my opinion (been there 4 times)
- Absolutely love the experience when TFC plays Mtl. The Toronto fans were louder and drowning out Montreal fans. Especially loved that the Toronto fans were singing O'Canada in English and drowning out the entire stadium singing it in French.
- We need crappy stadiums in the league so more top players would want to come to Toronto. We also need crappy stadiums so its cheaper for us to attend away games. Gotta look on the positives.
- Giovinco crying was hiliarous. And he scoring and silencing all the montreal fans while the bell was still ringing was classic!
- Montreal didn't play poorly but they were out classed.
- Bono is the MAN!!!!
- Can't wait for the Jamaica vs Canada game. I'm a dual citizen so I'm cheering for both teams and am just looking forward to a great game.

The stands back when I used to watch the Toronto Lynx in Centennial Stadium were better than what Saputo has (although they were only half the field). So were the washroom facilities.

I'm surprised that MLS let Joey go so cut rate even back in 2010, it screams "minor league," I doubt they would allow that today.

Oldtimer, I'm usually with you, but not in comparing Centennial to Saputo Cheese stadium. I watched the Lynx, and went to numerous track meets at Centennial. Not bad for a municipal stadium but come on, it's nothing like Saputo. My only point is its a great place to go at the
moment as TFC supporters, so why are we criticising the washrooms? Silencing the Bell is surely more interesting and more fun.
