In other league news, the Sport Business Journal reports Riccardo Silva of MP & Silva sports media group, made a (semi-?)(in-?)(not-quite-?)formal offer to buy MLS's world media rights for $4B (that's a B) if the league would institute pro/rel. Garber and Courtemanche declined the offer.

That's the way to start the weekly news cycle. Obviously the seriousness of this offer is debatable, but Silva is a big wheel, and has the money to do it so it is perhaps plausible. If anything, it throws a big issue with a live fuse right into the MLS board just as they start thinking about expansion and I'd assume, the eventual end of expansion with all the money that is tied up with that.
