So, actual football that means something. CCL quarters.

In tonight's game (only on Facebook), Vancouver at NYRB. Small crowd by the looks of things.

Not a fan of either team but ultimately the best result for us would be Vancouver going through to the semis, thus raising the co-efficient for Canada higher for the draw for 2018. Vancouver sets up well against a very narrow 4-2-2-2 from NYRB.

Dallas is up against Arabe Unido in their QF. In with a good shout against the Panamanians I'd think.

NYRB star reading his own clippings thinks way too much and then also way too little.

The ego on the NYRB team is massive.

What a testy, nasty game. I imagine 2nd leg in Vancouver will be more of the same.

Apparently more people watching on Facebook (5K) than in the Stadium (3K).

And they were already the best team last season!

Dallas through easily.

So it will be MLS vs. LigaMx in both semis.

Can you believe that the CONCACAf quarter's aren't on TV in Canada? Even though there is a Canadian team...that is pretty shit.

Vancouver supporters have not shown they care enough yet. Because we and the Impact have a history with this event of getting big crowds out at this stage, the game tomorrow would be on somewhere.

But, Vancouver doesn't have the history with this event. For our sake, I hope that changes tomorrow night but looking at the available tickets, its going to be about 12K at that game. If they get through tomorrow, I think Vancouver will do better for the semis as will Dallas (NYRB will continue to be embarassing even if they made it to the final) but I get the feeling most of MLS supporters just don't care enough to be bothered.

I continue to believe that the farther VCWC go (just don't win the darn thing) the better for us co-efficient wise.

I blame Canada. No really, footy fatigue. With the girls elsewhere this summer and no gold cup game in Canada we'll see where the next men's friendly goes.

What are the other options for Davies, Liberia and Ghana?

^these days? Someone will just give you a passport.

I think we may have finally gotten to the stage where being a cmnt player might have some caché (especially if you raise the fortunes of the team). I'll bet he suits up.

Good result for the Whitecaps... Montero and Shea seem like good signings. I think they weill see more out of Laba, Manneh, and Waston this season. Kind of paled in comparison to our LAG Quarter Final moment though.

Really sad that Dallas closed half their stadium to make the crowd look good last night. I know a CCL game would be unlikely to sell out in Toronto but we would at least get 18K.

Huh. Yeah I would hope to sell it out but kind of surprised Dallas couldn't do better with Mexicans travelling.

Unlikely to sellout? Our biggest ever crowd was for CCL.

Let's not pretend it was for an earlier round, though. This far in the expectations are much different than Joe Public.

One stand is a building site and the other was having the final touches done to renos before their home opener
