How come these guys manage to get all of these ex high level players? They've just been linked with Nolberto Solano now. Its like the rules of the salary cap and DP's don't apply to them!!

'Cause everyone wants to give their right nut to play with goldenballs.

That and they hope some of the castoff girls get sent their way.

I highly doubt Thiery Henry grew up dreaming of one day playing in central Ohio.

L.A. is a hollywood hotspot and that's it.

If there were no teams in LA, Beckham never would have come here

maybe if every team stacked their offense it would start to liven things up a bit!

Its MLS man, its all about selling the sport. And of course they wanna sell the sport in the biggest Cities before they work their way down to the smaller cities. They always say if you can make it in New York or LA you can make it anyware!

and hey look at TFC we are a sucess story as far as selling tickets and making money goes without having any DP's! :taz:

Alot of other MLS teams have at least 1 DP, and yet still cant come close to are tickets and merchandise sales!

^ Which, to me, is incredibly disheartening. It probably sounds arrogant, but what do we have to do to get a DP signed?

Because everybody wants to retire in the land of sun, strippers and silicon valley(s). Its an attractive city to live in if your primary goal is no longer to play and win.

The league likes to make the rules as they go along to suit certain teams. Just like with our top allocation for McBride. Why even have that fuckin' rule? The guy stated that he wanted to play for Shitcago, and the league was going to see that that happened, even though we had his rights. Sure we got some free shit for him, which is great, but the rule is fuckin' retarded if the league is just going to step in and pretty much force the trades to happen.

So will if Solano signs with LA will that give them 3 DP's now? Is Landycakes considered DP this year? I thought I heard that at the beginning of the season.

Donavon and Ruiz are not considered DP's until 2009, 2 named exceptions in the regulations, because supposedly they were grandfathered in after the DP rule.

the 3rd and final named exception was Eddie Johnson.. but he has since moved to fulham and thus removed from the list
