The Reds have announced they will host 1,500 Syrian immigrants at BMO Field for Wednesday’s TFC's Orlando game. Good on them on this classy thing to do.

Great idea!

"Our" family isn't here yet, so unfortunately they won't be taking part. But there will be other opportunities in the future!

They invited the Syrian Eagles over at KTG. Im guessing they are inviting their family and friends over to watch the game tomorrow. Great gesture from the club :scarf:

Didn't someone have to take down a "Refugees Welcome" banner last year?

IIRC, this was during the election when things were less certain about whether support for refugees meant support for one party over another. This country as a whole has gotten through all that it seems.

I seem to recall that during the boat people refugee crisis there were stories about Vietnamese people getting tickets to Jays games. If anything I'm surprised other sports teams havn't done this.

Hopefully a lot of people show up and have a good time.

I think the issue was more with the fact that the banner said "Refugeeswelcome.com" which is different to "Refugees Welcome"
