I am thinking with Barrett on board and depending on what else Mo is working on, with Cunny no longer at risk of filling a roster spot, the players will feel that they hold the cards and will make a push for the playoffs.

July was a brutal month for our boys and with all those games done, hopefully they can get some bumps and bruises healed up and FOCUS on the task at hand.

how can any team be a surprise in a league with so much parity?

I don't see the parity. The top teams can beat us if you wake them up in the middle of the night. Our game is pretty far from, let's say, NE, DC or Houston's...

We need to start winning on the road (tomorrow would be a good start), and we need to beat the other teams in the east (NYRB would be a good target). If we can't do A or B, you won't C us in the playoffs.

2 wins can take you from 12th to the top 3 or 4

thats parity

First, you need to be able to win; secondly, the teams above you need to lose; thirdly, even if you get there, you need to be consistent and keep on winning and fourtly, the the low point differential is give by the low number of teams and games played overall.
Again, in my opinion, there is an important gap between the top teams and the rest - just like in EPL, La Liga, etc.

thing is, really no teams in MLS are consistent

Sure NE has been better than everyone else, but thats about it

we can play with anyone on a good day, same as all the rest of the teams (save SJ)

New England is the only team with any real separation.

I agree with the pope. In this league, nobody would qualify as a surprise team down the stretch other than San Jose.

Road wins, road wins, road wins.
