I read a post by Shaughno's I had a moment of panic, he thinks that Dichio may be out for the season. I do not want to panic, but what do you guys here about this. I hope that it is not the case.

it looks like it will be at least another month before there is any chance of him playing.

As per Ives article, he may not return for the season. Gimme a sec...

So why did TFC do the deal? Apparently Danny Dichio's concussion is worse than first believed and the rest of his season could be in jeopardy. With Jeff Cunningham buried in the basement of the TFC doghouse, Toronto was desperate to add a veteran forward. The club is still searching for an international forward but the hope is that Barrett will be able to step in and start while the club searches for a second striker.

I read it was likelly going to be a long term recovery - whatever that means. My son thinks a long time is about 6-8 seconds.:rolleyes5:

well Barrett certainly will not be the only piece needed to fill the void up front at the moment.
Clearly there is one more move coming to make up for Dichio's injury and Cunningham shittiness.

If true and we place both Dunivant (broken ankle) and Dichio (concussion) on the IRL then we officially have two spots open for Barrett and ???

Dichio's days as a starting striker were numbered anyway. His body cannot withstand 90 minutes of football the way he plays (hard). We may never see him wear a TFC kit again, particularly as he has shown interest in moving to a front office job instead of banging up his noodle every week.

^ Fuck do not say that. Please I want Dichio to lead us into on playoff run.

Concussion's are tricky. Nobody knows exactly how long they take to recover, or the long term effects. Sutton was out for a long time after his concussion.

I think we're being a little dramatic. On the Bold TV feed from Tuesday, Danny said that the headaches were gone and he is only experiencing the odd dizzy spell. He said that he was looking to start light training by the end of this week.

At the latest, I bet we see him for the big home match on 8/23 against the revs with a possible return a week earlier against the red bulls in NY.

When he starts light training it will be pretty clear where his recovery process is at.

light training for a guy with a concussion means he doesn't need help taking a shit anymore, and can wipe his own ass. I knew a guy who bumped his head while competetive cycling (he fell), and, light training for him lasted four years.....every day, after he worked out, the headaches returned...problem with these symptoms, is that as long as he has them, even 2%, he can still not say he is recoverred...that is why it takes so long...even if he is able to play, with leather helmut, he will never be the same, because any bump on the nogin will screw him up again....sorry, but he is done, i fear.

^ I see that you are real optimist.

I heard from a very reilable source that right now he is at 70%. The conservatitive guess is early September.

Here's hoping he could be our late striker sub for the last 10 games......

if Danny doesnt return this season, do you think he will retire and go on staff for TFC or will he where the red again as a player??

I hope he stays around TFC in the long run, but right now we need him as a player.

He wants to play at least another year or two

If in fact his career was to be cut short, I expect him to end up coaching in some form or fashion (striker coach).

I heard he wants to move into coaching, he would prefer to stay here, but who knows

Usually guys recover fully from their first concussion it's number 2 3 and 4 that are the serious ones. Now has Dichio had one in the past that went undiagnosed? It's possible, but I doubt it.
