Toronto FC and the Chicago Fire could be ready to announce a deal Friday in which the Brian McBride situation will be resolved.

Toronto has had McBride's allocation rights for Major League Soccer but since he left Fulham in England at the end of the past season he has said that he wants to play for his home-town team, the Fire.

The teams have been trying for a while to work out a deal that would make that happen.

MLS commissioner Don Garber is quoted as saying that the situation has been resolved.

It is not certain what TFC will obtain for McBride's rights.

One website, Goal.com USA is quoting a source that said Toronto will receive forward Chad Barrett, a first-round draft pick and allocation money in exchange for McBride who will be playing immediately for the U.S. Olympic team before joining Chicago.
