View Full Version : What's it like seeing yourself in promo material?

I was watching All for One recently (the one with Ashtone's 100th appearance) and the thought struck me... I'm probably seeing people I read on this board. Then I wondered how that must feel for you guys. What's it like seeing yourself on TV or in other promotional materials used by the club?

Do you feel weird as in "OMG I look ridiculous" or "yep, the TV really does add 10 extra pounds". Or do you feel special, and hit rewind 20 times to see yourself over and over? Or maybe you're just immune to/sick or it because you've been on it so many times?

Roll call, who has seen themselves on TV (I expect you all have)?

The TV really does add ten pounds. That's all I am willing to say on the subject.

So does the food and drink at the stadium....at least that is what I am blaming it on.

I see myself from far on all game telecasts because easy to see where my seats are but I have never made it on TV up close. The cameras focus on the front of section not the back usually. The RPB escort kids made it on one of the All for One episodes so that was cool. Saw my kids. Saved it for them.

I tend to see the flag I'm waving more than I see myself (there was a good shot in one of the Cesar videos).

I used to get multiple text messages during games about being spotted on TV, but I think that got old for everybody.

Ladies, I'm married. Please take a hint.

my boys have been in each episode of all for one this season. But if you were not looking for it, you would miss them. The best was seeing them sleeping on the bus back from Columbus.

It's fun to see the other guys you hang around every week as much as yourself. It's just as surprising sometimes.

(I do THAT when I celebrate? That's what THEY look like right beside me?g:D )

I then try and figure out which game they used for said promo. Fun game in itself.

I think i've been in most of the recent ones, the only one that was strange was the video during supporters month where it was an interview.

I'm a Capo and have a beard (sometimes) but i assume you are talking about the capo in 114 which is not me.

I should probably stop sitting... I feel like only the guys that are standing and look happy get on TV.

Last episode was funny....they used some stock footage. I caught them going to the protest game then they went back to the Morgan game. Too funny.

The picture in my avatar is a still taken from the "Thank you to the fans" video at the end of last season. The "wife" and myself raising our scarves singing O Canada at the top of our lungs.
Also saw myself swinging my scarf like a madman after a goal in one of the early games this season when I re-watched it.
Kind of weird seeing yourself...and I definitely don't need the extra ten :-)

I was very excited to make it into what I consider to be an iconic photograph from the first season. It's been used on tickets, on billboards and it still hangs in the Kia. It was on the exterior of the Eaton Centre in massive size. I even had a few friends tell me that they'd seen me up there.

iconic is an understatement, it's one of my favourite TFC photos of all time, tied with the seat cushion shower.

I know...every now and then I get on the bathroom scale and think "Fuck...another 10 pounds...TSN must have shown 112 on TV again".

Regardless...the press are not there to make you look good. Sometimes, though, I think they go out of their way to make you look like a complete idiot. My son, though, likes to remind me that in my case, it's not a long journey for them.

Lol I never look at myself thinking the camera adds 10 pounds, it's more like the camera adds 10 drinks!

Caught a glimpse of myself beside David Miller at the season opener at BC Place while watching All for One. Damn I was white as a ghost, BC summer hadn't coloured my skin yet :D

Lmao second this, I see ivy in every AFO episode this year I think... And more then a handful of times in other promos and tv ... Shit he's practically the unofficial face of RPB ahahahah

Me personally I've been on tv a few times and a promo or two along the way it's rather cool actually to see you going all out ... Even if I do look like a drunk giraffe or some shit lmao
