Back at Home During Pan Am - give yourself more time to get to the stadium.

Union is not the team we beat in May, but then again neither are we.

Defence has to be better.

Love the shirt design. Only wish there was the Toronto FC's version of the MLS Logo on the right sleeve as well. But it's awesome regardless.

The teams in the East have been so up and down lately, I'm not sure what to expect. TFC has the capacity and opportunity to put a beat down on Philly and will need to to stay in third. Anything less than a +2 GD from this game and the team will lose ground I think.

How do they do a t-shirt giveaway with everyone being all different sizes? Never been to a t-shirt giveaway event before. Seems like it could be crazy if people are looking for certain sizes. Not sure how they do it. Maybe just give out size L to everyone and if it fits it fits and if not too bad...hang it on a wall....not sure.

^^ usually everyone gets XL at one of these things.

I have known people to ask if there are any larger sizes (because they MIGHT be), but usually everyone is an XL.

I'm half listening to a replay of the Union/Portland match in the background and I think I heard the commentator say Edu is suspended for their next match. Good news for us!

Just heard it again. Edu definitely out for our match.

Warner and Hagglund are both now sitting on 4 yellows and thus one yellow away from a suspension. Warner should wait until Bradley gets back to miss a game.

Start Bendik, put Zavaleta back in, pray to a collection of deities that Bloom can start at RB. Otherwise go with Lovitz and Morrow again.

And start Moore. Findley was a massive swing and a miss from Bez over the off-season.

Well maybe they'll get an early season game next year.

It will be like the last 2 home games before he left for the Gold Cup (Moore starting, Jozy as the Sub in the 2nd half)

I wouldn't be surprised to see morgan back at lb. He hasn't had a game in a couple weeks and even if he plays tonight he should be good for 2 games this week (assuming CAN doesn't go forward).

Based on a few things Floro indicated, I doubt Morgan starts or play tonight. Osoiro might though, but he can take 2 games in one week with both of them at home.

Jozy was just not simply himself at the Gold Cup. Was at the US game Friday night in Foxborough and he was just off, being subbed out at the half. I hope that all parties involved realize this and take it slow with his recovery from the hamstring, thus taking it slow and sitting out this weekend. When health he is one of the top US scoring threats so not all is right.

I thought the committee could only retrospectively punish someone if the ref didn't see the incident. The fact he awarded a pk means he saw the incident and acted on it how he felt appropiate.

I'm not too worried about losing Konopka, not his biggest fan and thought he'd be lucky to keep his place after that performance anyway, but what I am worried is that there seems to be some kind of witchhunt against us.

No, they can pretty much do whatever the fuck they want.

http://pressbox.mlssoccer.com/content/mls-disciplinary-committee-principles-and-parameters

They can issue extra punishment to a guy getting a red card, a guy committing a foul the ref didn't see, or they can go over the ref's head and issue additional punishment for something he did see and make a decision on in the match.

Iraola broke into the box at some point in the second half, Konopka came out to cut down the angle, Iraola centered the ball as Konopka began sliding towards him, Iraola jumps over konopka as konopka comes through under him. Very routine play. Konopka gets a one game suspension for it.

exactly, and for a penalty no less, that dive was so bad, maybe hard to see from where the ref was standing but waaaaay to obvious on replay.

game altering penalty dives should be the ones they focus on the most, instead sam of the red bulls takes the heat for a dive outside of the box, great distraction move by the league to keep the focus off of nycfc's golden boy.

An 80% Altidore may be ok for some minutes on Saturday even if just to intimidate their defense for a bit. I bet he hasn't been 100% all season but still managed to put in 6 goals. Wouldn't want him to re-injure himself though either. Hope him and the staff make the right call. Stay out of the game if necessary. I bet he wants to prove Klinsmann wrong about sending him home though so he may push to play.

He's been back for a bit and doesn't seem to figure in Vanney's plans whereas Creavalle is seemingly very important as he always gets squeezed in a match somehow, no matter the circumstances, even if he has a string of poor performances. Seeing that guy trot out and fuck everything up every week must be disheartening to others in the locker room who bust their asses in training and get no shot or who put in good performances (Bloom) and seemingly get tossed aside for the coach's pet.

Altidore <> Moore
Osario <> Chapman

Is Altidore going to start?

Looks like it will be closer to:
--------------------------Bendik--------------------
--Morrow----Zavaleta--Simonin/Perquis--Morgan--
--------------------Cheyrou--------------------------
--Delgado------------------------------Warner------
-------------------Osorio---------------------------
-----Altidore----------------Giovinco-----------------

Maybe Moore/Jackson with Altidore at 60 min.

So I was thinking of coming downtown early afternoon to park by Joe's. Anyone know if parking in Liberty Village will be madness with all the stuff going on at the Ex grounds? I am not worried about the HOV lanes so much to get there since I will have 4 people in the car altogether so it may even help. Expect to get to the area down there around 1:30-2:00 PM. Haven't been down there since all the Pan Am stuff started. I usually park at Lamport when I park in that area.

We'll be reaching the same temperatures as they did in Portland a couple of weeks ago when they moved the Timbers game from 2pm to 8pm kickoff.

I also find it interesting that all I've been seeing/hearing so far on CP24 this morning is how hot it will be today, to keep hydrated/stay cool, yet they're still allowing the TFC game to go ahead at it's scheduled time.

I think these hot, humid and draining conditions are far more dangerous than thunderstorms.

I thought Osorio was excellent today. His patience on the ball is fantastic. So many players would have played the ball wide to Morrow when Osorio got it when he did in the middle for our first goal but instead he had the presence of mind to look back towards the middle for Giovinco to make a play.

Losing the clean sheet was unfortunate, really just looked like we kind of fell asleep on the play with the game being basically over. Besides that it was comfortable win and a big 3 points for sure.

cant fully agree. Jackson should have been in there from the beginning and the other subs were odd and odd timing. For example, Oso looked gassed yet Vanney subbed Warner. Also, once he subbed Altidore, there was no one to hold the ball up which allowed Philly back into the game. Basically, we beat a weak Philly team 2-1, can't say that reflects positively OR negatively on the coach. And Bendik didn't have much to do. His distribution, though, particularly in time added on, was very poor.

Thoughts

Days like are why I am glad to be on the West side. That sun was a killer.

Place is loud this season. South bringing it again today..

Crowd looks better in the stadium then on TV. 24K or so seems about right.

Spent the first 20 minutes wondering if Delgado up top on the diamond was a bad choice. Passing was off Then he scores - still not sold on that choice to replace Bradley but can't argue with him finding space in the attack.

Jozy brought it. Great passing, good positioning Good hold up play. There was the one pass in the second half that would have been a tap in for him that Osorio got on the end of instead.

Osorio needs to get off the schneide.

Defence isn't good enough still - Conor Casey given room? HELLO???? Zaveletta is a #3 defender.

Indications after the game that Moore got injured in training yesterday.

Chapman at the end caused them issues - he's not a starter striker but I'll take him over Findley. He actually did a Seba there with a run on the line and almost scored.

Bendik's distribution makes me cringe - Konopka at least kicks the ball to our players.

Got no problem with the subs - No Creavalle means no booing the sub.

Oh, and Seba - just fun to watch.

Roll on Columbus.

The boys played well today. Osorio stepped up huge. Might have been his best game this season. Hopefully we get more consistent play from him. Delgado has also been a pleasant surprise. Morgan also had his good moments. Made Le Toux look foolish on a couple of occasions.

Are there any restriction as to when flags are waived in the south end? Seemed that they were waiving them too much through out the entire game. Obstructed the view of many people in upper 114.

I can't stand listening to Rauters. Just doesn't know what was going on. For example, he had Morgan playing both left and right back. Or at another point there was a sequence where the ball came to Delgado, who passed it to Osorio, who passed it to Giovinco, but Rauters called Delgado Giovinco, and then called Osorio Delgado. And he was doing that the whole game.

Also, Altidore might not have any assists, but that doesn't do justice to the fact that he's set up a number of goals of Giovinco, and he's made quite a few great passes that didn't get converted in the end

Hmm well three points were taken and that is job1. In one sense a good sign. We did not play our best and still won. Delgado continues to be a pleasant surprise and Orsorio played well. Gio as per normal brilliant. With the emergence of Delgado that has shored up the midfield. The back four needs help, need another CB to really have a shot in the playoffs

I watched the replay and it was clearly an assist. Not even a question.

Also at the end of the game, they showed Giovinco and Kamara both tied with 12 goals and now the mls website shows 13 for Kamara.

How is this possible if Columbus does not play until tomorrow? Or maybe im missing something..

He originally had one. They took it off. In a league that counts second assists that's BS to me.

Ahh, I can't hate Vic Rauter, even when he's bad. The guy is TSN's jack-of-all-trades, who just does whatever beat they put him on. He's mainly their curling guy, for God's sake.

And I laughed out loud when he just started going JACKSON JACKSON JACKSON JACKSON. It also thought it was hilarious how he kept pronouncing Giovinco as "Joe-vinco"
He actually pronounces it better than a lot of announcers.

I was in the west stand and it was insanely hot so I can't imagine what the east side was like. It really was unbearably hot. In terms of play we didn't play great but it was enough to have control of the game. Gio was top class (goes without saying) and everyone else played fine. There were long spells when not much was happening but at the end of the day it's the three points that count.

And how about that sequence near the end when Jackson was making a run after a ball where all he would say was "Jackson..Jackson...Jackson...Jackson"

I swear he must have repeated his name 5 times in a row.

He's one of those commentators that means well. Let's not forget, before they replaced him with guys like Jack, De Vos, and Willeman, he was TSN's go to soccer guy the way Gerry Dobson has become for Sportsnet. The thing is, the sport has grown from an TV audience perspective to the point that soccer fans here can finally ask for better.

Hey... hope you managed to make good use of my tickets. Yeah, the folks at the bottom of 114 love to wave those flags about for extended periods of time. Which is why I'm glad my seats are near the top of 114. There's no rule specifically regarding when flags are used, but clearly those guys take things a bit far. To be honest, they're the ones who should be at the top of the section.

The flag waving yesterday by those guys was just obnoxious and I missed vast pieces of play throughout the game. So did most of the people around me at the back to middle of 114. All we saw was "Seba passes to the centre - Jozy gets the ball - flag - flag - flag - Philly have the ball - make pass - flag - TFC have the ball again - flag" etc etc. There was one penalty appeal by Philly towards the end of the game that most of 114 missed due to that flag. If it was actually a penalty nobody would have seen what happened.

I understand a supporters group want to create atmosphere, but they have to think of everybody else trying to watch the game. The two big flags were waved almost constantly and really did ruin the game for a bunch of people. Towards the end of the game a lot of middle 114 people started throwing their beers and water at them and some people were getting very angry- creating a rift between your own supports is not cool at all.

Wave at the start of the game, wave immediately after a goal, wave at half, wave at the end to celebrate, but not throughout the game during important and entertaining play. I'm going to have to call my ticket rep and complain if it continues like yesterday throughout the season as it really ruins watching the game. But the last thing I, or other 114 fans want is to STOP completely being able to bring flags in - so those guys really should wave them responsibly and not make your own fans so angry that they nearly have a fight about it!

our first goal came from Warner splitting the midfield with his pass to Osorio. Same thing with Giovinco's second goal last week. He does good stuff in possession all the time. He's also the defensive foil for Osorio and Cheyrou. As good as Delgado has been playing, Warner has a key role on the field when him Osorio Bradley and Cheyrou are on the field together, and I don't think Delgado can do what Warner does.

That section is going to be that section. They are allowed to do it so they will. The fact one has tickets there is unfortunate if one doesn't share that mentality but one is always welcome to squeeze in where flag waving is done at particular points. 112 took a long time to get that way with a lot of convos that started like this one.

Not from either group but the coordination of the capo's in 112,113,114 and 116 is work in progress. It's just difficult to communicate during the game to do the same songs, the coordination of capos is not due to any rift it one exists.

i was on the stand in 112 for the game, and i'm pretty good friends with stelios/anthony/eli (three of their capos) so i'd like to think i can provide a little insight.. we're all on pretty friendly terms. like jack already said, they drink in our bar. there was a bit of a sour patch awhile ago when they were trying to carve out their own identity, but that's long over. we've worked on a couple of tifo's with them, done capo/drummer meetups, and attended the same FO meetings.

there's a few main differences i can point out. none of them are because of any animosity, it's just a styles clash.

- RPB tend to stop chanting when one of our players is down.
- some of our chants are more lighthearted, as opposed to some of their more "hardcore" stuff (which i'm sure they wouldn't take as an insult).
- they tend to carry songs on longer than our versions, some of the folks in 112 aren't down for a 6 minute version of allez les rouge allez.
- we have a bit of a lax atmosphere, whereas down there it's "you stand here. you sing. you wave a flag. end of story".

like i said, no animosity, just different styles. aside from that, the simplest answer i can give you is this: it's fucking hard to hear. they're have the same issue with kings and 109. there's more room between us than there was last year. so we try and link up songs when we can, as best as we can.

No one has an issue with the passion they bring. There are times in a match where flag waving is fine but when it starts to create conflict, it's time for the club to talk to these guys and get them to respect other supporters in the south stand before someone oversteps the mark and it all kicks off.

is it disrespectful to wave flags for the full 90? some people believe it is, but to them it's disrespectful to stifle what they've got going on.

at the beginning of the season inebriatti got permission to use 114 as their stomping grounds.. so as a supporter section it's kinda theirs now. now that might sound a bit blunt, but look at it in terms of relocating SGs to the south. there's a finite number of seats, so which would be easier for the FO to deal with? relocating a bunch of SSH's in 114 and dealing with the fallout, or letting a SG wave their flags and have people come to the FO asking to be moved?

they're gonna keep doing their flag thing but, if anyone has an issue, it's best to talk to them pre-match at BMO.
you probably aren't going to like the answer though. as far as i know a few people have spoken to them before and it hasn't changed a whole lot.

Yup, saw this too. Came into post it. The point in question...

No shots, no chances created, no dribbles attempted, and no impact worth speaking of on a game that Toronto FC won 2-1.
It's not that Maidana was bad. It's that TFC very cleverly decided to use Marco Delgado as an advanced destroyer at the tip of their 4-4-2 midfield diamond. If you think "advanced destroyer" is a clunky name, I'm inclined to agree with you. But there's no term - English, Spanish, Italian, French, German or otherwise - that I know of that precisely describes Delgado's role.
So let me sum up: Usually we think of "destroyers" as either sitting in front of the back line in the fashion of an old-style hard man, or of roaming freely, box-to-box like, say, Roger Espinoza.
Delgado served that function, but did so higher up the pitch, playing more forward or advanced. In doing so he alternated between cutting of service to Maidana from the back line, or racing all the way out to the touchlines to close the Union No. 10 down and take away passing lanes. Maidana is a talent, but he's a one dimensional one, and by having Delgado nipping at his heels all day TFC took that dimension away.
There aren't a lot of players in the league who could've covered enough ground to do that. One of those who could is the guy Delgado was deputising for, Michael Bradley, but we often get so caught up in Bradley's distributive abilities that we miss how much value he brings defensively.
We shouldn't make the same mistake with Delgado. His ability to sprint all day on both sides of the ball is a true weapon, and I'd expect TFC to continue to find creative ways of using it.

There were several fans around me in 114 who went down to talk to them but quickly came back. They then went to the security but they were told "there is no limitation on flag size or when they wave so we can't do anything about it". That's when frustrations started to boil over and the beer and water bottles started to fly. That's exactly what happens when people try and talk and are rebuffed - and its going to get worse as the season goes on if the flag waving continues throughout the game unfortunately.

If the flag waving bothers you guys so much just move 1 section over. Simple as that. There are always empty seats around. Even on days when it's packed.

The problem is that we DO have assigned seats. I tried to reason with one guy who told me "if you don't like it you can move over there" (he pointed to the east stand). I told him we have assigned seats and he replied "no we don't, my seat is over there (pointing to east stand) but I come here (114)".

Everybody should be able to WATCH the game - that's the primary reason to attend. The secondary is the atmosphere - but you wouldn't have an atmosphere to enjoy without a game in the first place. If the game is sold out you would be unable to move seats - so the answer of "if you don't like it move somewhere else" is unreasonable.

let's keep try and keep discussion about other supporter groups to a minimum on RPB boards.

at the beginning of the season inebriatti got permission to use 114 as their stomping grounds.. so as a supporter section it's kinda theirs now. now that might sound a bit blunt, but look at it in terms of relocating SGs to the south. there's a finite number of seats, so which would be easier for the FO to deal with? relocating a bunch of SSH's in 114 and dealing with the fallout, or letting a SG wave their flags and have people come to the FO asking to be moved?

they're gonna keep doing their flag thing but, if anyone has an issue, it's best to talk to them pre-match at BMO.
you probably aren't going to like the answer though. as far as i know a few people have spoken to them before and it hasn't changed a whole lot.

What if they lit flares throughout the entire game so the field was in a haze that you couldn't see through, or held up that giant flag/shirt so it covered everybody in the south end so all you could see was underside of the flag? I'm sure people would complain at that point. Waving massive flags is essentially the same thing.

I put the original post on here complaining about the flags as I see the RPB's as one outlet that can possibly assist in the situation. The other is my ticket rep, who I will contact. I will never be one of those guys who throws beer/bottles at fellow supporters, so my outlet is to type on a forum like this, so please excuse if you think I'm just ratting out a fellow supports group. Otherwise I don't know what else to do! All I know, though, is that if waving flags pisses off other people so much that they are violent in response as they see no other option, then we have a big issue that's going to boil out of control.

Yes. Contact your ticket rep.

The RPB have dealt with this issue in 112 and have asked members to contact their ticket reps if they have seats in 114 and have an issue.

That is the only option.

They have the right to wave a flag all game. They will.

Violence won't solve the issue.

I find it somewhat ironic - as you will see in this video I took - that they were waving the over sized red and white checkered flag during play - which clearly would block the view of a good number of supporters behind it - and yet after Giovinco scored it remained on the ground and was not being waved.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sLOzFv4MvGc

Well at least they had stopped waving it in time so that everybody behind them could see the goal - maybe the flag waver is psychic - lol.

Ticket reps have provided the same response as the guys at the bottom of 114: "too bad".

I have no problem with most of the flag waving. There are plenty of opportunities to wave flags during down time but if we have a corner kick in our end or a fast break this is not one of them. There seems to be no effort at all to control the flags. I think this is where RPB can maybe have a discussion with the lads at the bottom of 114 as this no doubt came up in 112 in the past.

I understand people's frustration as I have been in 115 since day one and all of a sudden we are being told "too bad" or "you can move".

My seats are affected by this flag thing too. I actually can't believe someone in row 1 was able to come up with a flag and pole large enough to block my view in row 21. I heard lots of banter back and forth between the groups that wanted the flags down and the ones in the supporter group at the front. Some violence will definitely start soon enough. Throwing things is the first step and soon someone who got hit will retaliate. It is only a matter of time. I am surprised it hasn't happened yet but people are definitely more pissed as the season goes on. Alot of 114 emptied out because of it. My wife was in a wheelchair and getting upset by the flags blocking her view. Not so easy for her to move to another section since there are only so many accessible areas. I understand the points from both sides. I don't mind the big flags since occasional obstruction in the supporter section is expected but I would prefer if they weren't up as much as they were last game. I would prefer if they timed the waving more with what happens in the game and the chants but doesn't sound like that is going to happen. I heard one guy yelling back to the supporters at the back that if they want to watch the game stay home and watch it on TV. Just ignorant I thought. Also, the guy on the megaphone yelling at everyone at the back to "stand the fuck up" is not going to work I don't think. First they piss off a large number of people with the flags then they start yelling at them to stand the fuck up? I don't think that is going to work out very well. Gets tiresome hearing "stand the fuck up" over and over again. Besides...all of 114 used to stand for the whole game in previous years. Will be interesting to see how this develops. Some people in this world get alot of pleasure from pissing other people off and if there is no restriction to doing it at the stadium they will continue.

I just spoke to Megan at TFC and she said she will talk to the person in charge of the supports section and "see what she can do" about the flags and talk to those responsible. She appeared more concerned when I told her that I saw people throwing beer/bottles at the flag wavers and people were getting angry at the situation.

I encourage other SSH in 114/115 do also call TFC and make the same complaint if the flags are ruining their experience like they did mine.

The one problem with that is are they going to give us the price of 114/115 in another area of BMO? I doubt that, and I honestly can't afford a more expensive ticket! If I could afford $1000 to be on the side I would already be paying it, but I can't!

I ask this for better transparency all around - What do you see happening to restore your pre-2015 experience?

-Security either banning fan flags altogether
-Security enforcing proper flag etiquette

The first ruins it for everyone, the second is an incredible ask that no security team would participate in. It would require security having to know the etiquette and then know what's happening behind them. That's not why they are there.

People relocate around the stadium every year. It is far more probable then hoping half a section changes the way they support.

I would say its a big stretch to say its half a section, its probably the first 7 rows with many of those supporters not actually having seats in that area.

40-50 supporters (6-7 guys with flags) can't regulate their flag waving so a couple hundred supporters/fans (who have been in their seats since day 1) should move, and potentially pay more for tickets, or learn to live with it?

This is a tough issue. I can understand why people that have been there since day one would be upset now that their gameday experience has been changed for the worse suddenly this year. On the other hand, there is a warning list of things that people have been told they have to be ok with in a supporters section since the beginning and flags are one of them. Just because huge flags weren't blocking your view at the beginning doesn't mean that it would never happen and it is allowed.
If I was in that section and had my view blocked, I would move for sure since I'm there to watch the game. I would do that instead of complaining but I can definitely understand why people don't like that option.
Either way, I know the RPB forum is the biggest TFC forum so people discuss everything about TFC here, but maybe it's not fair to be discussing this speciific topic here since I doubt the RPB members want to get involved in an issue that involves another supporters group.

Hmmm......getting in the way of viewing for accessible seats can lead to interesting things with Human Rights. That's a no-no.

People with flags should have been told before they moved in.

BUT, accessible viewing trumps flags.

This is the kind of attitude that makes me happy to sit in the north end despite being a dedicated supporter. No one should be asked to move from the seat they paid for in order to actually watch the game.

Just like no one should be asked to stop supporting in any way they see fit in the supporter's section.

Everybody should be able to WATCH the game - that's the primary reason to attend. The secondary is the atmosphere - but you wouldn't have an atmosphere to enjoy without a game in the first place.

This is where we disagree. If you decide to 'sit' in the supporter's section you have to accept that flags, tifos, 2-sticks are going to get in your way every once in a while. In this section atmosphere is #1.

I can sympathize with that. Really, your beef should be with MLSE. They should have designated some sections with unobstructed views at a similar price point.

The answer is that people are human and they usually realise that they are ruining something for other people above and beyond their self-involved act. Like when you go to a concert and somebody puts their girlfriend/child on their shoulders for a vast period of time and then the people behind them can't see anything. That person usually gets the message that the people behind can't see (or not, and then some irate person throws a bottle of something-gross at their head - we've all been to "that" concert when "that" happen!

I realise 100% that 114 is a supporters section - I realise that people can bring in banners/flags/drums etc. I've been a SSH since day 1 in the south end so I've seen it all in the south end. But the line is drawn at where you can't see vast areas of the football pitch for vast parts of the game. If the thoery that "you should expect to see flags" is true to the point where you can't see the play, then I will bring in a 6 foot tall- 6 foot wide banner to the next game and hold it up continuously throughout the game - however I'm almost certain I will be asked to lower it by the 5th minute of play when the 100 people behind me can't see anything at all.

There is a massive different "imo" between expecting to see some flags/banners during some parts of the game and being behind a flag so large that you can't see anything on the field for vast portions of the game.

Two things

a) that's a video of a a display during a warmup

b) Its already been mentioned that some of the people not being able to see are in accessible seating

i.e. Its a bit more complex then a lot of people are thinking.

Addressing this yet again...

That section is going to be that section. They are allowed to do it so they will. The fact one has tickets there is unfortunate if one doesn't share that mentality but one is always welcome to squeeze in where flag waving is done at particular points. 112 took a long time to get that way with a lot of convos that started like this one. With even bigger and bigger flags arriving in 114, something is going to break.

The theory seems to be that they are allowed to do it, so they will do it.

I fear that if they don't start respecting their fellow supporters, that ultimately the rules will change. I fear we risk seeing flags or more banned - at least anything bigger than a football rattle.

The lack of restraint or a willingness to work with others is troubling. And I fear that it will tar us all. It would be nice if this could be worked out without complaining to the front office ... I just don't think that helps any of us.

Having amazing support is definitely something I want this club to have. Waving flags is a part of that and if you're going to be sitting in the supporter section you should know that that is part of what occurs........... HOWEVER.. if you look at the above, during the match, the supporter section doesnt' use their props as they are also fans who want to watch the match.

Respect goes both ways.. if you want the entire south end to be a "hardcore" supporter culture you must acknowledge that people aren't just paying to see your flag.. they do want to watch the match as well.

Everyone should really work together and create something special here. It can be done, we can once again be the stadium to see in MLS, but it won't happen with butting heads.

If you're not adding to the atmosphere - or at minimum neutral - you're taking away from it. Who is impressed by a flag flying on a 20' pole throughout the game? People on TV? Congrats, you're getting your hardcoreness across to the couple thousand that bother to tune in and aiding the puckheads who love to say the only reason we sing and chant and wave flags is because nothing is happening on the field. Be proud. But if you can't recognize that the people that are behind you in your section aren't going to find that endearing, you're no threat for MENSA and the atmosphere in your section will turn to nothing.

Love when I see the guys doing it staring up at their erect flags with the game 10' away. Maybe they're compensating for something?
