Not sure where this exactly goes but we are losing one of our current cast of TFC beat reporters

Armen Bedakian ‏@ArmenBedakian (https://twitter.com/ArmenBedakian) Jun 27 (https://twitter.com/ArmenBedakian/status/614933737235582976) Also... This was my last home game with http://MLSsoccer.com (http://t.co/JFI1xfjuMy). In two weeks, I will be joining theScore as a soccer news editor!

I'll still be around for the next two games. Then it's European/International football time!

Now who's going to do those long verbatim accounts of the end of season press conferences? :)

But the burning question - will he still get to follow the career of Jacob Peterson closely :-)

Seriously though - congrats.

Congrats! A former college of mine is doing the online NFL stuff for the score and he loves it.

Also, does this mean Richard Whittal is gone and the score's soccer content will be digestible again? That guy ruined their blog.

He's been gone for a while now.

He's been gone for a while now.

Oh thank god, I had just stop reading their site altogether. It was like a high school creative writing class was being asked to cover a sports beat.

"It was a cold and rainy night at BMO field, the birds were absent from the sky and in the distance a child cries out for his mother. Were these cries that of hunger or was I hearing the personification of a young club crying out for success."

Okay I made that up, but that's what reading his shit felt like.

Hmm.....that sounds like a lot of the crud that has been on the Guardian this season, except couple it with a blatant inaccuracy.

Jesus, he got promoted? That's it, I'm becoming a writer.

Too bad Armen didn't get his foot in the door sooner. Considering Whittals rate of trajectory, Armen would be at the Economist by now.

Just saw this... thanks guys <3 I... don't know what to say, which is a first!

I'll be doing EPL/La Liga/Serie A/Bundesliga/MLS news from now on, but that means I won't be on the TFC beat any longer. Thank you for reading my stuff - hopefully only the good articles - and for helping me grow when I was but a bald Jimmy ~5 years ago!

I owe you all a pint! :drinking:

This is great. Congratulations Armen.

I don't know Armen at all, but remember when he was on here as a kid just looking to get involved. He has plugged away, and off he goes.

I am sure our anonymous, snarky, yet overall, strangely accurate version of TFC reality, will suffer for his loss.

A road filled with thankless hours and putting yourself out there looks to be heading to green pastures.

A virtual toast of congratulations and best of luck in your new opportunity. :drinking:
