I'd add Shalrie Joseph and Kenny Cooper.

Sounds about right, not crazy 'bout Blanco's diving but it might be another story if he was diving for us.:D

Shalrie Joseph is quality....I really rate him.

He's a monster in the middle and I think could slot in on many a European team.

He'd be probably playing for Celtic right now if the MLS had let him go last season.

As for other players......

Kenny Cooper amazes me every time I watch him...the way he moves for such a big guy. He reminds me of a 28 yr old Luca Toni when he first made his name.

Juan Toja...although he's off to Steaua Bucuresti is quite a great player when he wants to be.

And...don't kill me for this...but...who wishes we had Christian Gomez instead of Amado Guevara. Ok..fine...we can keep Amado...who wishes we had both of them?...I do.

And obviously DDR.

Dero, of course. Cooper had great position and great runs, he would definitely cure our striker ails.

Blanco was a god tonight -- I couldn't help but stand up and cheer. Watching him play that class of football was a privilege. When ESPN (the beck-whores) asked him what it was like to play with Beckham, he should of answered: "Ask him what is was like to play with me."

Though I'd take Toja or Beckham too.

True, true.

Every time I see him before kick-off...I was second guess his ability.

But then when the game starts he's like a snake out there. It's as if he can wriggle out of any situation and pick out any one of the 9 outfield players on the field at any given time, no matter where they are.

Even though he's a cheating scum sometimes....he's pure talent.

Pay DeRo a Dp salary if they are paying robinson and robert 300000+
after seeing his size and the toughness in that penalty kick give him whatever he wants.

Blanco runs like my father would hahaha buts gets it done.

The game was well worth it

Are they in Beijing already?

LucaGol

Either way...even though all-star games are corny....I was still proud to be a supporter of an MLS team tonight.

The MLS has come a long way...and there really are some talented players in this league.

I would take the entire team over our current squad, although that's no surprise. I thought Joseph was the best player on the pitch, Blanco, Toja, Bornstein, Beckham and Cooper also stood out.

I'll take Beckham and Cooper. We would tear an asshole into this league.

DeRo and Beckham.

DeRo is obviously the man. And Beckham, aside from media attention and being marketed (and the illusion he is the best player in the world) he was still picking guys out with long balls from 50 yards away.

Add: DeRosario $324,999 and Joseph $325,000 ($649,999)

Trade: Cunningham $257,500, Edu $157,500 and Robinson $330,000 ($745,000)

Difference - on the field = immense; off the field, $95,001
also gain a sr I spot

salaries to be pro rated, 1/2 season

(I just said Mastroeni since we need someone to light a fire under Marco Velez's ass in defense.)

I'd say Kenny Cooper, then we clone him and have two Kenny Cooper's up front. We'd be unstoppable.

Man. I know he's in the twilight of his career and stuff, but his passing tonight convinced me that he still has the most skill in this league, hands down. I was in awe.

Is that so? Because I count 9 MLS home games, 2 goals against (both freekicks). Ill keep my defense, thanks. Marco and Tyrone have been great for us this year.

So I take it you missed us getting torn a new one in half our road games this year, including Houston and DC AFTER his alleged turnaround. Velez and Marshall are competent, and I'll even say very good -- SOMETIMES. That's the problem, they're still too inconsistent. But you could say that about most of the team, which is part of why we're at our current predicament.

DC was not after his alledged turnaround (assuming youre talking about 4-1, not 3-2. Cuz 3-2 was on Greg Sutton and Marvell Wynne). Id say overall, if we were to grade our positions, Goalkeeper would be B+, Defense B, Midfield C, and Attack D-. Therefore I dont think that if we had to pick two allstars for our team that the focus should be on defense. Id pick Beckham (dont know how anybody couldnt) and Blanco (although hes a major wank). Then id look at the salary cap and change my mind.

I think there is a noted difference between being effective through tactics and being effective through individual talent.

We play a flat back four and most of the guys who play back there are stay at home defenders. In front of them we play two defensive mids, every game.

I really think the strategy accounts for half our defensive record. We saw how quickly things got ugly when we played 3-5-2, which is a pretty good test of how good your backs actually are, when you give them less cover. Our players are good within our system, but i wouldn't go too far to complement them on their individual ability.

Cooper reminds me a lot of Rob Friend. Both are big guys who can move really well and score goals also very athletic players attempting bicycle kicks, diving headers etc.. Obviously Friend is a star on a big European club but Cooper is a great player who doesnt get a lot of credit in this league.

Oh my god. Will you get over the home goals against? Big fucking deal we don't concede at home... wanna know why? We always have the ball. Lets see them defend on the road when the opposition has the ball.... ooo nasty results

Will you ever get over pissing on the campfire? This board is so fucking negative, and when somebody mentions that we havent let in a goal from play in a home game this year, they get shouted down.

Shalrie Joseph was very impressive…even for a friendly but I've been watching this guy ever since Celtic put a bid in for him.

That little no neck waddling fat fuck Blanco is really good too…prick.
