Its that international friendly series. Hopefully we aren't in it.

Maybe BMO field just gets a friendly between two of the teams that are shown in the background of that link. TFC is not there in that link anyway. We did hear though we were getting one more friendly besides Man City though so could very well be it.

I still have reservations, if it were all other leagues clubs coming in to play then great.

Seeing San Jose, LA and NYRB in there just means one day our team will be roped into this kinda crap.

May be the AS Roma friendly we are owed from the deal for Bradley.

Might also be just an international friendly like last year with AC Milan and Olympiakos.

Pretty sure we are due another friendly this summer (Probably Sunderland if you read the Walking the Red article for Man City: http://www.wakingthered.com/2015/4/8/8370393/toronto-fc-to-play-manchester-city-in-first-of-two-friendlies-against )

Dream match -- Barca versus PSG (but that'll probably be sent to the Rose Bowl (LA) or Metlife Stadium (NY) ).

Probalbly we will get Porto v. Club America

Or Fiorentina v. Porto

Probably won't be Manchester United. The word is LvG is taking them to the West Coast only and keeping the trip short.

It would be funny if it was a Quakes vs LAG friendly :)

My bet is Roma-Porto

That would sell out the enlarged BMO as long as most of the seats are less than $60.

Could be a double header but TFC is at 4 pm and PSG Porto is at 8:30, that is one long gap if it is. Not the first time that an MLS match is doubled up with an international match.

TFC play at 4, and this friendly is at 8:30... we also don't have another home game after this until August 5th. Doesn't seem like much of an issue to me.

I have a feeling that we will be notified that the game has been moved.

Either earlier in the day, to Friday night (17th), or to Sunday (19th).

There is no way that the TFC game will be postponed until later in the season (that is the only home game in July and I doubt that MLSE and MLS will want TFC to be away from home for 3 months out of 7, regardsless of other profits coming into the stadium).

I saw many comments like that. That place is a dump run by assholes. ICC should have done it at RFK, which at least is a legitimate dump with some history.

Chelsea vs PSG in Charlotte is tempting (it's a lovely town) but that's on 7/25, same night as Columbus vs TFC.

I didn't find FexEx to be too terrible, but yes, there was a militant security force present. Some separation of fans would have been a good idea also. I just figured "welcome to North America, where no one has any idea how to deal with footy issues."

I don't care if people want to watch a International friendly with 2 random big clubs, but whatever you do, don't add more friendlies to TFC. Id rather all MLS clubs stop playing friendlies in the middle of our busy seasons. Time to take our own league serious.

Anybody have anymore info on the TFC/Porto games both scheduled for July 18th? I just got an email reminder about tickets to the latter and I'm thinking of my summer plans - surely one of the games will be rescheduled?! I don't care about the Porto game but if the TFC game is moved to another day its going to mess up my weekend plans (I have tickets to some of the Pan Am events that same weekend).

To shed some light as to why the change is happening...

Porto is about to sign a very VERY lucrative deal with an Asian telecom company. As part of this, there is a clause that they can only play in their summer tournaments. Porto approached the ICC and let them know, who understood the situation but were rightfully pissed. ICC then went to Benfica, fresh off winning domestic gold, and asked them to play to which they agreed.

Yup. It's funny because people are hung up on the ignorance all around the name.

It's actually only nonsense if, and I get this a lot, if people drop "the".

"How's FC doing?" because FC follows Toronto its assumed a nickname and technically, it is, since it's a franchise and not a club.

"How's the FC doing?" is actually what we should be accepting since if there were no nicknames in NA we'd be talking about the FC vs the HC. Since there is we'll be hearing about just FC for a long time.

Now if one really wants to look for a reason to stick to only TFC the best reason is that soon the Argonauts Football Club will be moving in to BMO field.

Which FC do you mean?

Julio of course was in net and always the classy guy . We were very close to him . Interesting all the Euro snobs can put us down but our fan support is second to none . I felt TFC showed more love to Julio than Benfica fans . Benfica brought a big team and played everyone . PSG didn't substitute much and seemed to play to win . Their players some young , many African descent , we're all fast and amazingly skilful . Benfica were bigger and stronger but beaten to the ball many times . Truthfully Benfica treated the game as a preseason game testing 'all' the players . It was watching a field full off Giovincos at times :) . Our cost for tickets$60 were basically not the most expensive and we were near the ground where everyone warmed up . I wanted to see PSG ...

benfica treated this game as i expected they have a much bigger tournament starting in august that the team as a whole values more then a glorified friendly they have eusebio cup starting in 2 weeks witch is named after they're most well known and important player who we benifca supporters refer to as the king. as far as that back in forth chanting across the stadium goes its different when you have a club with a history as benfica those songs echo 2 the rafters
