Hi guys! Just thought I would pop along and say hi. I'm coming out to toronto in the summer and want to catch a game while I'm there. I was just wondering how much a match ticket is, where the best boozers are before the game etc so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks again.

Match tickets can really vary on where you want to sit and who the opponent is. I believe the cheapest will run around 25 to 30 dollars Canadian, but obviously the cheaper the ticket, the more likely it will be sold out. You may have to budget for something pricier unless you plan to purchase them well in advance.

As for bars, the Red Patch Boys usually have drinks and food at Shoeless Joe's near the corner of King and Dufferin that's about a ten minute walk north of BMO Field. Of course, there are many other pubs and restaurants in the area as well.

Cheers. I'm planning on going to the Toronto vs DC United game on 27th June. Wow, that's cheap for a match ticket! Will have to try and grab one as soon as I can.

That sounds good. Will have to try and find the bar and experience the pre match atmosphere for myself.

Thanks for your help. Look forward to watching my first MLS game!

Here is a Google map.
The drinks at Joe's are about 1/2 the price that you pay at the stadium, decent food too.

If you can get seats in the south end, sections 112-116 you will have the most fun.

Drink in the streets or the parks. The bars around BMO aren't terrible but you end up standing around like a dick for ages waiting for a pint of overpriced piss.

I dont mind that. I'm used to doing that on match days home and away with Portsmouth anyways! lol

Also, as you walk south from King St. To the stadium there is a neighbourhood called liberty village where a quite few fans congregate, as well as bars. But definitely a people place.. Hopefully we'll be winning by then. Actually all of King St. From Yonge St (our main North south street,) going East to Dufferin St. to Joe's if you desire is an amazing walk full of people and bars, cafés and the like. Especially if the weather is nice. Enjoy.

Also going to Toronto from the UK at the exact same time, and going to this exact match haha! Birmingham City fan myself.

Fantastic! You going to buy tickets for the game? If so, do you mind a southern softie tagging along with you? Lol

even if your ticket isn't in 112 you can still join one of these sections if you get there early enough.
come down to joe's before the match, you'll never meet a friendlier crew. plus see a guy who looks like this (http://www.thestar.com/content/dam/thestar/sports/tfc/2014/08/23/red_patch_boys_live_and_breathe_all_things_toronto _fc/tfc.jpg.size.xxlarge.letterbox.jpg), he has a penchant for buying drinks to first timers. g:D

we normally have a couple pints before walking down to BMO so show up an hour or so before the match and take a walk down with us.

nice action! will take you up on that offer. English football can be horrible for fans sometimes, especially when there is alcohol involved, so looking forward to a more relaxed match day!

You're at the right end of the field. When you're there take a trip into 112 with any of the Shoeless Joe's regulars. Bring your vocal cords.
