After reading a some of the posts about the true cost of attending TFC games, I thought I would pose this question. Here's my season's tally for tickets in the supporters' section of 110. I made 17 games this season.

Season's tickets: $230 (approx)
GO train: $146
Pre-game pints, tip included (2 per game): $306
Beer at game, tips included (avg. 2 large Stellas + 1 can in the stands every 2-3 games): $680
Post-game pints, supper, snacks (5 pints, wings or burger): $867
Wacky tabbacky (after all that beer, I tend to get carried away): $300
Bar bills for away games (I watch about half of them at bars): $400
TFC t-shirts, jerseys, hats (I don't buy much): $50
RPB scarves & swag: $100
Estimated total for the season: $3,079

Good thing the seats are as cheap as they are!

Season Seats: $228
Pre-Game Drinks/Food: $400
RPB Membership: $20
Couple road trips: $400
Canadian Smokes: $100ish

Not too bad for me. 99% of the time I don't buy beer at the stadium, fuck that whole concept of overpriced nonsense. Don't buy team gear either, not worth it.

It's definitely north of $2K.

Season tickets and Go Transit tickets alone cost me $1500.

The only money I pay to see TFC play is when they visit Montreal (closer to Ottawa than Toronto).

Ryan...you grossly underestimate what you spend...guaranteed.

I have 4 season tickets; 3 in 114; 1 in 112...2 of them are $190 and 2 of them are $285.

Season ticket - $228 (x2)

TTC fare - >$30. We usually mooch our kids Metropasses.

Stadium food - $0. No chance, Lance. It's a two-hour event. TWO HOURS! We eat before the game elsewhere, maybe bring in a snack of our own. Don't even leave my seat at half time.

Stadium drink - >$10. Bought a couple of coffees on cold days (mixer for the flask) and a water once.

Merchandise - $0. Sois serieux.

And that's the name 'a dat tune. They'll do more business with us when they bloody well earn it.

We'll I spend way less now than before and the amount is dropping yearly. Shitty beer options helped in that for sure but so did the team being what it is. This past year was $190 for tix and about $150 for 10 beers and the GO/TTC trips so a total around $500.

In the past I was paying much more for seats prior to good relocating and was buying a couple jerseys, a hat, jacket, hoodie, etc per year along with food here and there and a minimum of $100 in beer per match. I don't really like adding it all up but it wasn't good at all. In fact I think I probably spent around $2K yearly in just beer alone back in 2007 to 2010. Thankfully our high level of shit-ness year in and year out have killed all those desires I once had on a game day. Now I just go and wait for the worst to happen and it usually does.

I spend about 60 bucks each game day outside of tickets. Half at Joes, Half at the stadium.

$190 per seat.
2 large beers per game @ $14 per beer x approx 15 games I make it to = $420
Avg 1 beer before or after game at Bud Patio ($7 x 15) = $105
Misc food (not very often) = $50
TFC merch (non-jersey buying season) = $50
Walk to BMO = FREE

Approx $815 for the season.
(That doesn't count eating costs for games I don't make it to, or for my 2nd seat)

This would actually be an awesome experiment to do...

The entire 2015 season, tally up accurately what you spend from tickets, transit/gas/parking pre and post game, pre-game meals/drinks/booze, BMO Field meals/drinks/booze, post-game meals/drinks/booze, merchandise/jerseys/etc, away game costs (out at the pub to watch etc / road trips full cost all including tix/transport/food-booze-hotel) etc...

I would LOVE to know what I spend in total - and if I wasn't half-cut by 11am on match days I might try this.............. but that's not gonna happen... :drinking:

I would advise not doing this, I tallied up my spending at one point and it just made me sad. Train, food, beer, tickets, away viewings, away travel, merchandise etc several thousand dollars. It's an exercise in futility lol

Don't forget the costs associated with face planting in parking lots. :)

$190 for ST
typically a tank of gas for travel = $45 x 10 = $450
Via train once in a while $120 x 2 = $240
Parking sometimes (sometime drive all the way, sometimes take GO train in) $10 x 5 = $50
GO train occasionally $15 x 4 = $60
Bridge tolls = $3.50 x 2 x 12 = $84
Beer at stadium, occasionally $15 x 5 = $75
Beer at Joes, when I make it early enough $10 x 2 x 5 = $100
Food, one meal on the road, something in TO = $10 x 2 x 12 = $240
TFC shirt = $125
Other TFC swag = $50

Total = $1664

2014 - seven games

Tickets (anywhere from 2 - 5 of us) $805
Go Train $217
Gas to Oakville $175
Food/Drinks at BMO $285
Merchandise $ 58..........all purchased at final match for 75 % off
Total $1482

2015, now that I have seasons will clear $2000 easily...unless I can relocate out of the medium greys I purchased.
One thing for sure, the food/drink is going to be purchased at a much lower rate over that amount of games. Like someone else mentioned, it is only TWO hours.

If you would buy beer on weekends anyways (either at the beer store, at a club or other entertainment venue) then you really can't chalk that up as a TFC expense.

True I suppose, but I wouldn't buy that much beer. And it wouldn't cost as much.

Money spent on 2014 TFC home games

Single Season Ticket in Section 112: $215
GO fare for 17 trips to Exhibition Station: $250
TFC Merchandise: Negligible. I bought almost all of my TFC apparel and merchandise during the first five years of the club.
Food/Drink: Negligible. I haven't purchased a single food item or drink at BMO Field in years.

Total Spent: $465

If you throw in gas money for the trip to the Pickering GO Station from Oshawa and back, and maybe a few lunches at Joe's or other resteaurants near BMO Field, I'm probably spending about $550 or so last year.

Not all that bad, really. Also, it's kinda funny how I'm spending most of my money on transport to and from the games.

You guys are brave. I don't even want to add it up now that I bring my kids to almost every game and I make it to 90% of the games. Just the food they consume alone costs me more than the tickets. Parking and gas too. I can't really bring myself to buying the expensive beer there. I probably only drink at the stadium maybe 3 times a year and I only buy one large on those occasions. It is still a reasonable day out though if you break it down game by game when you compare to other things a family of four can do for a few hours. Just when you add it up it sounds more scary.

Good point...here's a comparison...if all five of us go to 17 movies at $80 (ticket + concession)....$1360.

Edit...add another $160 to that for the two Canadian Championship games, since they are included...so 19 movies, $1520. Not that we would ever go to 19 movies in a year, but, it's a decent enough comparison.

Couldn't vote,:wink5:.

I was upset at spending around $80.00 on a CCL game early on. I am so cheaply angry. No wait, my anger is of high value, just not my expression of it.

If other MLSE purchases are factored in, well...

Oh my 'normal beer' and 'TFC Beer' are totally DIFFERENT!

We have a saying 'FOOTBALL DRUNK!' which is MUCH HIGHER than our usual NORMAL DRUNK...

So I absolutely, 100%, definitely, can chalk up the beer I purchase at Joes, BMO, Post-game on my 'TFC Account'...

Home TFC Weekends kickup the spending, a lot..........but, I LOVE IT! :drinking:

12 games purchased as singles cost $240

Had two or 3 beers from the import stand in the south end to the tune of around $13 or so each.

Still wearing my year one jersey with "Toronto" across the front.

I'll count $40 for MLS Live to watch away games and games I can't make it to in the stadium.

TTC via metropass to the games

So a little north of $300

Averaging around $2500/year.

$20,000 over first 6 years. $60 in last two years (100% on ticket trader).

$180 for my seat and I also bought the new grey shirt last year - otherwise I spend no more - I refuse to buy beer at the games, and I don't eat the food. I cycle to games. I bring an empty water bottle to games and fill it at the fountain. So, that's it.

I watch the away games at home in front of my computer screen streaming the games, unless they are on a channel I already pay for.

I'd rather not know. TFC tickets are a drop in the bucket. It's everything else that adds up. But hey, I'd likely be spending that money anyway. I just choose TFc as my entertainment time and break from the daily grind of life.

My costs for watching TFC is fairly low.

1 seat - $228
I rarely buy alcohol at BMO field, but I have purchased beers at some games, so I'll ball park $100 for booze.
$0 for food
$30 for Onxy Jersey
I live in Toronto, so I won't include my metropass which I use for work/shopping
Beer at Joes - let's say 1 $5 can a game 20 games? $100.

So yeah...

My TFC cost isn't that high. Largely, because I refuse to buy any food, and I'll only buy the occasional beer. I used to buy beer/food at every game the last few seasons and it really added up, so I cut back.

Helps a lot when you don't care for the food or beer choices at the stadium. I wouldn't drink a Bud if someone gave it to me - so the temptation to buy several just isn't there.

If they had decent beer options there I would spend far more.

I love drinkin, but not at stadium prices. I'm not 20 anymore, I can't be arsed. I'll wait 2 hours. Besides, it just gets in the way of bouncing/singing.

Season's tickets x 2: $460 (approx)
Beer (1-2/game): $200
Food: $150
Parking: $150

This is being generous. Over the last 2 seasons I've cut back on my beer and food consumption at the stadium.
I've also not attended every game - So parking would be less as well.

At times I just wanna get in there and get out as soon as possible. Watching a team that cannot compete and has a better chance of losing at home isn't fun.

I spend:

Time with my kids
Time with my friends
Lots of time not at games having something to chat about with the family.

I am lucky enough to have the money to spend, and I can't think of anywhere I would rather be on a Saturday afternoon than in 112, watching TFC with my family and friends.

I hope that one day I can be there with my grandkids, telling them about trudging through loss after loss, in an aluminum stadium that came in a box and no roof, freezing in the cold or cooking in the sun, watching players who make less than my mortgage in a league that was considered a 'retirement league'

They will be remembered as great times.
