Can anyone explain why at the corner of Eglinton and Bayview there is a huge Billboard advert for the new San Jose Earthquakes stadium?

If anyone lives in the area - please post a pic

Just seems like an odd place to have it - would've made more sense around BMO or even the downtown core. Eglinton and Bayview doesn't seem like the most ideal area to have something like that - lots of older folk frequent that area - not really footy fans who would travel there.

Because they figure more people from Toronto will fly down then will go to BMO next season.

WTF !!!!!!!!!!

San Jose is owned by the oakland a's owners and is run the same way ... ie. cheap as shit. I can't believe they put up any cash money for this. Its unbelievable based on how they run their crappy franchise.

I have a pic of the sign on my twitter timeline. I can't figure out how to copy it here from my phone so if someone feels like it: @Yagbod

I wonder if there's any link between the people of whom designed the stadium and those behind the BMO expansion; could be they're just advertising other related works of theirs in the area, whilst they're here.

Of all the places in the city to put an ad, they picked that place?

Most people are not looking up as they are heading down a hill towards Eglinton.

Somebody got sold a bill of goods.

Its all part of their #MilesToEpicenter campaign , the Quakes have billboards in several cities around North America and even in Europe.
