Vanney says he's had talks with Bez and that he expects to be coach at start of 2015 season. #TFC

A fair comparison would be to compare how the team played in the last 3 games before Nelsen was fired to the last 3 games, where our playoff run went and died.

Crap defence throughout comes to mind.

That's what Bez says, but if we get a new president of TFC or when new guy takes over Lewieke's job, then it could be a different story especially if SSH renewals aren't going well.

Yeah could almost rename this thread

PLAYERS vs COACHES

Much as I love the reds some of the boys really had me scratching my head with the apparent "couldn't give a shit if we make the playoffs" efforts

It's so hard to tell at this stage.

It is like a new CEO coming into a company where sales are trending down.

If you measure sales performance in the first quarter after then change, you probably won't see anything. Largely the same people are selling the same way with the same infrastructure (ie marketing, resources, strategy). Sure some slackers might hustle a little more but overall results would likely continue on the same trend.

It would take time for the CEO to make changes to the infrastructure and those changes would take time to work their way to the front line sales team and impact results.

A fair comparison at a minimum would be a year over year.

I would be in favor of giving keeping Vanney. He seems better than Nelsen in a few regards. it's not Vanney's fault that he inherited a shit show with a team on a massively downward spiral.

Probably the biggest problem that TFC has had is this crazy instability with coaching and management.

Haha, this is exactly why I never wanted Nelson fired. We'll see how long Vanney is given. I'll say it again. He needs a full 3 years before getting axed, or we need a new replacement come December before training camp.

I wanted to like Vanney.

So far it's been nothing but sound bites of "going forward" and then our net getting filled with balls.

This is why I was not calling for Nelsen's firing, but I understood when they did it, because the team had slipped in form. I was however concerned that we again hired an inexperienced manager.
