I think it just might be a website error, I have run into this before with MLS website's.

Personally I don't think that their is anything nefarious afoot. MLS certainly wouldn't censor one group of fans over another.

I had the same problem. I had read the article half-way before having to restart my browser and that appeared.

I get Access denied, I'm in the US.
