Don't worry. There are games on Sat and Sun

I dunno how SKC didn't score... 2 posts and 2 goal line clearances in 5 mins. NYRB on the ropes

Fairly poor outing from USMNT despite a 2-0 vs Azerbaijan, but Bradley had a terrible game. Starting to get worrisome, though it may just be Bradley is saving himself for WC and not get injured before.

Not sure the top of a diamond is his best position either. Does a lot less ball winning there, and he isn't the creative force you need in that position. I think he is good going forward, but when he picks his opportunities. Maybe him and Jones aren't the best match too.

Bradley is still trying to regain his form post injury. I wouldn't read too much into it at this point...

Portland beating Chivas 2-0 in Chivas' home turf with an attendance of 3,702. Subtract the Portland fans who went down to see the game and the Chivas draws as many people as as a pee-wee hockey game. I know the team is now owned by MLS but you think it would be better to suspend the teams' operations until it can be purchased by someone and moved elsewhere.

Wow. Even with the new ownership group and rebranding, I don't think a second team in LA will work. Should move the team IMO.

I wonder if Chivas counts the number of stadium staff on duty in their attendance number?

A surprise 2-0 win against New England for Montreal. For what it's worth I don't think New England will be contending for top of the East come the final weeks of the season.

In terms of goals per 90 minutes, Defoe is at 0.9, tied with Plata and behind only Dempsey & Wright-Phillips for best in the league (when excluding super sub players with only 2 or 3 goals, and Vicente Sanchez who has scored all 5 of his goals from penalties).

Watching TFC yesterday and a few other games: there is a very definite effort on MLS Ref's part to crack down on contact inside the 18. Penalties are being thrown around left and right.

TSN said on the broadcast yesterday the rate of penalties awarded is over 1.5x so far compared to last year.

Chicago tied LA and Houston lost to Colorado, more dropped points in the East.

Nearly a collapse for the ages as Vancouver was up 4-1 in the 77th minute but allowed two Portland goals. Whitecaps just manage to hold on for a 4-3 victory. Morales with 2 PKs and two assists.

Urruti with a very good goal to start all that.

And gosh that Portland colour commentator is grating.

Robinson has to be favorite for coach of the year at this point.

That Portland v Vancouver match sounds like it was pretty intense. I was able to catch Urruti's first goal during break at work, but will have to see the highlights later for the rest of the match. I think that was his sixth for the year, if I'm not mistaken - that's the same number as Defoe.

They lead the league in shots from outside the 18 yard box. Morales and Fernandes are both particularly shameless, although they tend to get the ball in good pockets of space.

I wish TFC would use Gilberto the way Vancouver uses Eric Hurtado. Just have him pull off defenders left and right, causing them fits as they try to keep up.

Defoe up for GOTW, but Will Johnson's goal will take it, and for once, actually on merit

The Johnson goal may be goal of the year.
