3 at the back requires a different set of rotations and marking. You can't just do that with a relatively new or makeshift backline. It would have been smarter to have some sort of back 4, maybe play a 4-2-3-1 to protect it

Sure but then pair Sinovic with either Palmer-Brown or Myers. Obviously it's makeshift but it's a familiar system and you reduce players getting in behind.

Jeez, all great goals - but Higuain is the best for the sheer tenacity and skill it takes to pull that off. Unlike Martins where it was more luck than anything and Defoe's which was served on a platter in comparison.

GOTW should selected by an impartial panel. Van voting turns it into a "what team can get their fans out to the website the most" competition and rarely has anything to do with the merit of the goal.
