So Defoe will miss another game how many games will he be missing this season? The more things change the more they stay the same with this organization, it's one thing for a player to get injured during a game, however, it's another thing to sign a player who is already injured as is starting to become pretty evident in this signing. Moreover, to spend the money this club has to sign this player knowing of his injury is baffling really. I hope I'm proven wrong but if this guy only ends up playing a handful of games this season due to injuries this signing will really start to look like another of a series of jokes by this club since the start in 2007.

Amen.

The bigger question is how many games over the course of his 4 year contract? Spending that kind of money given his circumstances (health/age) represents a very big opportunity cost. A younger striker. A deeper scouting group. All alternative uses of that money.

The baffling part is they did it knowing full well that there is no budget relief for injured players. They saw this play out with Koevermans. They saw it with Frings. In Tim B they have a GM who knows the rules. Puzzling allocation of resources.

IMO Bradley is a FAR more important player for us. When Defoe is out with have other options up front (including another DP calibre player)...when Bradley is missing from our midfield he leaves a giant hole behind that no one can fill.

I gotta admit, it is starting to get ridiculous with how many players we have who aren't lacing up for games. And Bull's right about Bradley. His loss from the lineup is much more noticeable than any other player I can think of.

Osorio should be starting today, though. That should help. But Dallas is gonna be tough. Huge goal-scoring potential with that club.
