I see there are big signs at the gates now telling us not to throw streamers yet during the game it still happens. Anyone witnessed repercussions? (people being thrown out etc.) Seems to me to be a half-hearted attempt by the league which it probably should be.

as far as I heard, you can still throw streamers but not at the players.
They love the look of them coming from the back rows, but interfering with play is frowned upon.

there has been another incident (brawl vs. West Ham) in Columbus, so expect a statement from the commisioner about streamers by tomorrow.

the top rows should throw em
looks better, throwing them into the corners of the pitch makes it look so messy ;)

Um? isn't the streamer/objects in play rule thing only for MLS games?

If so then MTL should get ready to have streamers on them tmr!

Coming into the game Saturday, I had a bag full of them. Security squished them to make sure they were soft and then let me through. My streamers got caught in the wind and reached about row 5. Security never said anything to me.

sitting in 111, I was really disappointed to see those beers thrown during that corner.
There was a cup with lots of beer still in it lying right beside the ball when Ronnie kicked it; it sent up a spray of suds.
Why on earth people continue to think it's funny or a good idea to do this is beyond me.
Throw the idiots out!

As for streamers... I have grown less and less interested in streamer showers during corners.
Throw them in celebration only I say....

agree with you there...I was in 111 too and Ronnie Oactually struck the beer cup with the ball...may or may not have impacted on his kick...

Yeah you could hear it really loudly on TV, I knew it had to be a beer cup since you could see one impact the field right before the kick.

not that I want to get all Big Brother here... but maybe a couple security cameras that cover the corners would be good to catch these idiots.
Now I'm sure some would disagree with this... but let's face it...
if you are doing something that you don't want to be seen on camera then chances are most people don't want you doing it.

Ditto ... Beer throwers should be demeaned to the public humiliation of being escorted to pick up the beer mug, place it on their heads, yelling "I wasted perfectly good beer" and "I'm a wanker for disgracing BMO Field." ~Add Streamer Shower and Wanker and/or Who Are Ya? chant for extra humiliation.

I don't have as strong an opposition to cameras as some. But with all the cops and security that stand around and peer into the stands, how hard can it be to see someone throwing the beer up and a big follow-through?

Hahaha Beer Showers are the norm in 112... we don't throw them at the pitch but rather up in the air at each other!

I use two-ply, quilted streamers.

No mention on the Crew site. Is there a link or better yet a Youtube video?

BRING STREAMERS TO TOMORROW'S GAME!!!!

It's not an MLS match, and we need to have every home field advantage we can.

We need to drown those Limp Act losers in streamers Blanco-style. FUCK THE IMPACT!
