Too bad about the injuries, but he wore our shirt with pride and always been a class and a professional.

Will go down as one of my favorite TFC players. Great guy on the field, even better guy off it. You know he had as much right as anyone to complain at some points during his time here, but he never said a word.

I'm sure he'll take his chance in Seattle, good luck to him. Except for on March 15th. :D

You'll be missed Stefan. You were always classy on and off the pitch. I wish you the best of luck for a new start with a lot better luck that what you had here.

By far my favourite Red. So much so that I have a dirty Columbus yellow coloured TFC jersey with his name on the back.

Worked hard for us, and was patient when he was sidelined, class player. I wish him well in Seattle.

He made some clutch saves and wore the shirt with pride.

BUT DID HE EVER KNOCK STEVEN LENHART TO THE GROUND?

One of my favorite players of all time. He was one of a precious few bright spots in the early years.

He will be missed, I hope he finds a starting spot because he deserves one.

Stefan always was and always will be a model professional. Sounders supporters are lucky to have such an incredible man on and off the pitch representing their club.
Once again TFC FO dropped the ball by not allowing Stefan to become the first TFC player to reach 100 caps.

Wishing Frei nothing but the best for the future, you will forever be a red to us!

In a club that had been nothing but a disaster both in management and players, he has always been professional, a class act and had pride in this team and city. I wish him the best in Seattle and hope he will be a starter for them.

His last season or so here didn't do him justice in light of the great servant he's been for this club. All the best in the future, Stefan.

A terrific reaction GK. Right to the end of his time here.

I really liked Frei but remember when TFC fans thought he was definitely going to Europe and be a starter there, with a first division team no less?

Injuries are a bitch.

Probably the classiest guy this organization has ever had the chance of having. Complete professional to the end.

Sad to see him go but wish him well in Seattle. Hopefully he can show everyone what we seen in him.

Once again TFC FO dropped the ball by not allowing Stefan to become the first TFC player to reach 100 caps.

Gotta disagree with you on this, I'm glad the organization isn't resorting to these types of decisions. The wall of honour will just have to wait longer for its next inductee.

he made getting a name on the back of your shirt mean something.

it's gonna suck that he won't be with us when the team turns its fortunes around, he's certainly been here through the dark ages.

I think it's all been pretty much said here...

Thanks for the memories Stefan, and good luck in Seattle except for when you're playing against TFC.

Hope Seattle knows what they are getting.

I'm surprised by the lack of activity in this thread, I guess TFC has just made everybody numb these past few years.

Well best of luck to Frei, go kick some ass.

7 hours worth of posts. And its been known about for months. And whatever angst there was about it was said a long time ago.

Its a bit of the long goodbye syndrome - and Stefan has handled it very very well.

Class act - from his banner to making himself available to everyday fans. My eldest son (David) aspired to be a net minder of his calibre. He asked for Stef's autograph many times and it was given with a smile and a word of encouragement - whether at an RPB event or the TFC summer camp. David still has Frei's hand written message pinned to his wall "Dream big".

With over 80 starts for TFC, my son's only Christmas gift wish last year was for a Stefan Frei green (or yellow) jersey.

In our house, he left this mark.

Good luck, Steph.

I can't say enough good things about the guy. He always made himself available for anyone post match, played his heart out when given the chance between the pipes.

He also stepped up and became a player liason at supporter meetings, he genuinly wanted to be involved with the supporter groups and community.

I am really going to miss having him around, a shame that he didn't get more chances to play during the season.
