Nice one John. Thanks for posting.

One thing no one can deny about Aron Winter is that he has integrity. A breath of fresh air with a franchise and an ownership that more than often operates without it.

Yeah John, thanks for sharing. Wish things would have worked out a little better for Aron because he seems like such a genuinely nice person. Hopefully one of these new coaching opportunities will be a good fit for him.

During his time here in Toronto, I was quite critical of Aron with regards to decisions he made on the field and such.

But I have nothing bad to say about him on a personal level. He is genuinely a nice person, and easily the classiest and most dignified person in the history of TFC.

Great to hear from Aaron. I miss the high expectations I had back then ...

Class act if I ever saw one. I badly wanted Winter to succeed here but it was clear it wasn't working out. I wish him all the best.

Nice to see lately that a couple former managers (Carver and Winter) have been 'catching up' and still take an interest in the fortunes of the club. Somehow I can't see either Preki or Mariner really giving a crap, hahaha.

Regarding Aron Winter -- great to hear from him via John Molinaro! I was a Winter fan longer than many -- admitted prejudice, that was due to me being a Klinsmann fan -- and by now we know how some (many?) things likely didn't go according to Klinsmann's (or Winter's) plan. And even Aron admits he made mistakes. (I won't get into the other mistakes by the lake...)

I think these phone calls are interesting. It seems Winter is really a nice guy, honest, classy, dignified as John wrote. But my personal interpretation: calling in the middle of the night, more than once, out of the blue (i.e., it wasn't urgent) -- maybe Winter is also a bit clueless, not the first time I thought that, and would explain some of his issues here. Folks that I know, that have contacts/experience in North America & Europe, know the time differences automatically in the back of their head.
