Yeah, true, this was written just before Saturday's game with Philly, when TFC dropped other 2 points at home.
But still does not make any difference.

I mean WTF are these people smoking believing TFC has still realistic chances for playoffs?

The one and only condition for TFC to have still some lifeline, some chance of playoffs is only if they will not drop any other point at home the whole season from this moment on. (This without talking about how many points will they take, or will they not take playing at other team's home.)

And this won't happen, it's just fucking impossible.
How come that it looks like everybody and their dogs are on crack, not realizing that the ton of points TFC already dropped at home has already practically killed the chances for playoffs?

It's the mentality the Toronto sports media has adopted. After years of futility for Toronto sports franchises (Argos and Rock excepted I guess) you have to try and find the silver lining in something, to keep your readership or viewers interested. As long as the magical "playoffs" are a mathematical possibiliity, might as well keep banging that drum. Unfortunately for Larson, what he doesn't seem to realize is that anybody who is likely to read his column already knows the real score about this club, and that they probably didn't have any real expectations for this club in 2013 in the first place.
