Larson says Laba is "being compared to JDG." Who is saying that? As if anybody has an opinion about Laba at all at this point.

I hate it when reporters are weasels and report insults in the Yoda voice, so they can deny that it was them who said it later.

the 10 questions article is pretty much bang on.
Well at least addresses thoughts and fears I personally have. .
This was a bit of a surprise to read:

Toronto FC target man Danny Koevermans has scored 17 times in 21 career MLS starts, a strike rate unmatched in MLS over the last three seasons

Reminder that I'm bringing Canada Womens tix for June 2 to the tailgate tomorrow 2-4pm.

This will be one of the last opportunities to get them.

I don't recall seeing anything remotely like comparing Laba to JDG in the way that Larson is inferring. And, people's problems with JDG were more rooted in his poor attitude and work ethic more than anything else. On the contrary, at least around here, expectations generally have been quite measured as to what we expect from Laba in the role he is being used.

This is a great idea that TFC could also follow. If there contract with InBev doesn't bar it from happening. Local craft breweries making TFC branded beers could be good for both parties.

Considering the $100m number I'm hearing regarding NY2, that's a bit of a slap in the face to Vergara.

What? So a punch in the face is only worth one game? If anything it should go the other way.

WTF is Garber playing at?

Yeah, the ol' generic statement. He probably heard one person say it and now it's "being compared to".

Disgusting.

CSA wants your opinion

I just finish filling the form. It's nice of CSA asking us what we should do to become a soccer nation.

I personally believe that we need more professional soccer clubs in this country. Canadian MLS and NASL teams have made a big difference in Canadian soccer (media coverage of soccer to developing Canadian players), but however, we need more Canadian cities (like Calgary) to step up to get a pro team. Canada is probably only country in the world that doesn't have their own professional league. Hard to become a soccer nation without a pro league.

I just completed it too and I agree with you. However, a league is hard to create if there is no money in it for investors so I think the focus should be on player and coaching development. That all starts at the CSA and the provincial bodies. they ALL have to act as one and strive towards one goal.

I just finished the form too. Gave them an earful. We desperately need a regional U-23 league affiliated with CIS to improve our young players so they aren't lost in the black hole between ages 18-22. But even more importantly, CSA needs to swallow their pride and choose the best international coaches that can implement the vision of how the CSA want's the Canadian game to be played. Hopefully it's a free-flowing, creative style with enough talented players to back it up.

Respectfully, to call Kurt a "dirtbag" is WAY out of line. WAY, WAY out of line.

I think he's a valuable and respected member of the press corps that covers Toronto FC. I get that he's not to everyone's liking and you may not care for his writing of style of reporting, which is fine.

But calling him a "dirtbag" is a personal attack that crosses a line, IMO.

As did I.

This association is an endless stream of pie-in-the-sky studies, consultant reports, prognostication, and very little in the action / accountability department.

I think TFC and others have proven that you can make money as long you do things right. 3 Canadian MLS teams are making a profit (same can't be said about most of American teams). We all know Canadian sports landscape is a joke and there isn't much competition for sports dollar (especially in the summer). So potential is there especially now that stadiums around this country are either being built or renovate.

I think there's already a plan for developing players in grass root level (or at least in Ontario), but however, there needs to be a pro team for players to work towards to. Having 4 or 5 teams isn't enough for country of 35 million.

Mr. Molinaro, this an open fan forum in which anything related to Toronto FC can be discussed and criticized. I have not used foul language or discriminated in a way which warrants your response. But martyr for your pal if you must.

Larson is half a professional, and only half because he must be. He thrives at undermining TFC at all the wrong moments, while supporting the most dire of circumstances (Mariner era). He frequently engages in petty twitter debates in which he needs no help looking like a fool. He openly hates TFC fans. His actual press is often confused, fabricated, or missing the point. At times cowardly or simply bad writing.

He should be thankful every day that he's a Canadian soccer writer, because it's one of the only positions around without quality control. I'll call him whatever I feel like, "dirtbag" was generous.

I'm sorry, but I'll save the use of the word of "dirtbag" for people who truly deserve it, like drug dealers, rapists and violent criminals - not Kurt.
