Good morning Og,

As a purchaser of a Half Season Pack, you purchased a ticket package that included a match on May 15th. As a result of our elimination from the Amway Canadian Championship, there will no longer be a match on this date and we will be refunding you in full.
........

If you have given out the May 15th ticket to a friend, please let them know that the ticket has now become void.
We will now turn our focus on league play and use this defeat as more motivation to improve our placement in Eastern Conference standings.

I've become so jaded with TFC FO that I first read the title of this thread as ' FYI: No refund for Game on May 15'

The only part of this that is interesting is they are not holding onto the money for a "great friendly opportunity later in the season".

Are STH getting these emails? Or did they not include this in your package?

Are STH getting these emails? Or did they not include this in your package?Yeah, I got the same e-mail about an hour ago (as a STH).

So much for the promise of an international friendly instead.

Best news of the day.

I got it too.

I'm ecstatic vs the alternative.

I thought that was rumour.

Just because they are giving the cash back, doesn't mean there wont be an international friendly. I can feel it coming.

I got the email as well.

Shows the huge difference between Kevin Payne and Tom Anselmi. Tom would have provided a useless mid-season friendly against some generic club. Kevin gives us a refund.

If they give us the chance to voluntarily buy a friendly later on as opposed to sticking it to us in the season ticket package, I'm OK with that.

Anyone else get the feeling that our international friendly will be against QPR ??

Anyone else get the feeling that our international friendly will be against QPR ??LOL ... except it will be an inter-squad game.

Personally, I'd prefer to have had an international friendly for $10 rather than a $10 refund. I can only imagine they are refunding this because there will either not be an international friendly, or it will be more than $10 in supporters.

I thought someone had stated (tweeted, or something) that there would be an international friendly if there was no second Voyageurs Cup game.

IDK about you guys but mine stated:

*******
Since you paid for your ticket package with a credit card, we will refund the same card on file. This process will be executed within 10 business days.
*******

Guys, you have to look at this from the bigger picture, this is a sign of respect. Although I haven't been around for as long as most here, it seems like this is something 'new'

I have to wonder; Maybe (just MAYBE) the problem was with the FO all the long.

If your personal life isn't in order, your work life can not be (at least not for long)

Maybe it is basically the same thing but with office & team ?

Thoughts?

Seems to be as good of an explanation as any (and one alluded to here many times)

This refund is a safe bet all around. I don't see many other people preferring a free ticket to tfc vs "other foreign club" and those interested will pay more to see their foreign club. Win-win for club and supporters.

I have to admit this is "good business practice" all around.
Sadly it has taken 7+ years for them to have the first instance of this.

The smart thing is to not play a friendly at all. That would be respectful of the squad and its health. However, they are most likely going to play one, it will cost more than $10 so refund it and wait. I don't think it will be QPR.

By the time the friendly comes it'll basically be a QPR intra-squad scrimmage.

And we do have some big breaks. We are in a 10-day one right now. We have a 2 week game in early June. We have a 10-day one in early July. And another 2-week one in early October.

I'd have no objections to a June 8th or July 6th friendly.

A friendly against the Canadian Men's National Team in preparation for the Gold Cup would be neat; but it won't happen.

But on topic, good call by TFC on the refund even though I'm not affected by it (no season ticket package).
