O'Dea's streak of being in the lineup with only one win while in a TFC uniform continues....

And I'm pretty sure that I've heard "bad luck" used by a TFC manager before to describe results......

You can say bad luck here and there but when you concede not only late goals but late points in 6 of your last 7 league matches you are beyond bad luck. That is something wrong and needs to be addressed. In fact I would say TFC have had their share of GOOD luck (Earnshaw's goal against LA for example).

Over their first 6 seasons TFC conceded 24 goals in the last 10 minutes that led to a change in the result i.e. a win became a draw or a draw became a loss. That is an average of 4 late goals a season and the high was 7. Last night was number 6 on the year.

If I'm being honest I don't see an improvement at all between this season and last. We are seeing the same thing with different players.

Rebuilding I understand but what's happening here is not right. Seriously, too many lost opportunities in the last 10 minutes or less on a consistent basis isn't bad luck, it's a lack of focus, concentration, and the will to finish off the game and your opponent.

Enough is enough and the fans can't take anymore.

Well at least we didn't travel to San Jose to see that.

Well at least we didn't travel to San Jose to see that.

the problem is that people will stop going to BMO to see that as well.

i feel sorry for the new management

Bad teams concede late goals.

You can talk concentration all you like, but replacement is a more viable option for most of this bunch.

I'm sure Payne has plans.

i dont.

look. i have seen the track record here. we play sub-par and then a season or so later, the coach/manager is replaced. he then say that he is rebuilding or cleaning up after the last guy. then his new team is sub-par. then he gets let go.

all the time, the team overall never really improves.

the only constant in all of this.....the only ones that have been hurt over the long run is the fans. we have stayed the whole time so we feel it the most....or the most accurately. players/coaches/managers and owners have always changed so they dont see/feel it like we do.

its just not good enough.

Seems like the plan was to trade down in the draft to acquire as much allocation money as possible then used said allocation to bring in a bunch of players on loan.

Interested to see what "plans" there are when the allocation money runs out and all those loaned players go back to their clubs. What will be left of the roster then? I assume most of the loanees won't be retained after their loan spells. The roster will be left with players that the current management staff deemed to be not good enough which was the reason for the loans in the first place.

The team is second from bottom in the conference and league as it is.

yeah, its been alot of fustrating years, but Payne has only been in charge for 6 months, and can't be blamed for all of that. also, in typical 'supporter' fashion, most people forgot what they themselves were saying in the off season...rebuild, patience, no playoffs this year. as soon as the season kicked off, its back to stunned disbelief and anger that we aren't a solid competing team yet.

see....there it is again. he is new and cant be blamed.

how many players have arrived since Payne started? by my count at least 18. he is responsible for THIS season. and its going down the toilet.

and my expectation was winning the voyagers cup. also to be competitive. fans are allowed to be pissed off when the team isnt doing good. doesnt matter if its a rebuilding year.

The short-term fix is far from the long-term plan, it's just a stop-gap. It's exactly because of fans who are looking at the team's standing this year (as opposed to recognizing it as a write-off) that he needs to have a short-term plan, I'm sure he would prefer to not have to worry about short-term results and focus on the long-term prize.

The long-term plan I would assume to be the same as he did at DC (especially given his comments when hired) -- do well in the draft and bring in cheap latino players. That takes time, but it's a proven plan, and it doesn't rely at all on allocation money. If he can bring in some good academy players, that will only add to things. You won't see results until 2014.
