Since be has been with TFC, Darren O'Dea has been in the lineup for exactly ONE win for TFC. ONE. And that was the KC game this year. That includes VCup and CCL games.

Why has this not been noted anywhere before now???

Agreed. O'Dea gets too much credit here because he plays for Irish national team which isn't impressive like some of the people here make it out to be. But at least he has "leadership" skills.

Right, because it was O'Dea's fault that Emory slipped with the ball right in front of Buddle...

I think it's a good indication of leadership/lack of from O'Dea. That Labrocca open shot on goal was one of numerous defensive breakdowns that could've cost us more goals. And on that last goal...Buddle was O'Dea's man.

Now that CCL is done and over with, I'd like to see Calif in there with O'dea. Hopefully the two of them can get things straightened out back there.

Actually, O'Dea slipped as well. The striker (Buddle) is matched against the CB, the LB is in a supporting role. Emory is supposed to help outnumber the opponent, not take on a striker 1v1. Emory was taking O'Dea's man.

The slips seemed suspect to me.....I'm asking myself if they were wearing the appropriate shoes/studs? I mean look at Emory's slip its like the guy is on skates WTF.

Coincidence, bad luck or lack of attention to detail?

Stats can be twisted to be anything you want it to be.

Look at Silva. Since he joined the team last year, we've only won 9 games. Out of 45 that's he's played. He started only in 5 of those. 5 with him, 4 without. That could mean that him being in or out of the line-up has no consequence on our performance. But when you look at his actual play, you can see the impact he can have on the game.

If I was looking at stats for O'Dea, I'd look at things he had control over. Cleared balls on headers, goal differential of the team before and after he arrived. I'm not a stats person, but I'm sure there is better stats to string a defender up on other than win/losses of a team. How many times have we lost 1-0? Is it O'Dea or any other defender's fault that we can't put one in on the other side of the field?

Look at the number of partners he's had on either side of him. You could put any stud CB on our backline and change the back 4 continuosly and they would struggle. Have we had the same back 4 for two consecutive games? or any two games?

A number of players were slipping around last match on both sides.

I wouldn't say it's a hate on for O'dea...but we speak about accountability for the FO all the time...well there is actually accountability on the pitch as well.
Someone needs to be accountable for the crap happening in the defensive end of our pitch, For shit that happens out of the coaches hands.

He is the guy who is suppose to be the leader of that back-line and he is the one that should be accountable for the slipups.
He is charged with organizing players back there, making sure they are in the correct formation and covering/supporting the correct players and should be the guy calling for midfield reinforcements and assigning them to attacking players.

I'm not calling for his head, but perhaps we need another leader in the back to help with these duties because currently we are all over the place. As mentioned before, it's not the only defensive slip that occurred during the match. We just got lucky that Colorado/MLS players in general can't finish.
