Samuel Eto'o is considering a "lucrative" package to go to the Uzbekistan league.

I shit you not.

C'mon MLSE, about $10 million a year'll do it.

This should be one of those I'll-give-you-a-blank-cheque-and-you-write-the-amount-you-wish-to-be-paid type deals.

not a chance he is genuinely interested, he just wanted a free vacation to somewhere he has never been.

I think more likely these league leaders are owned by some Uzbek oligarch gangster who scares the shit out of Eto'os people. Gotta be some explanation.

I bet the Kazakh league is pretty pissed at this.

Yeah, thus the suggestion. It might also be a teaser from his agent, however, to suggest the payday is everything in this case and draw some of hte middle eastern football backers out. He might be looking for a UAE or Saudi payday; a lot of the semi-retired African players seem to finish up there because the oil money means they can still get the ridiculous weekly wage they got in Europe. Wouldn't be surprised if this is where Kanu wound up as well.

Some have come and gone, too. Jay Jay Okocha came back for another round (Hull?) after going there first, I think.
