Well I did say to him "Put the grass down and they'll be lining up to come here", but he just snorted at me and moved on to the next person waiting in line.

I didn't take it personally, he's probably just as frustrated about the whole thing as we are - you get close to bringing in a decent striker and then they change their mind because of the plastic pitch. If we're frustrated as fans, think how the coach must feel!

The problem has been that the numbers so far haven't been high enough to pay the turf premium. MLSE wants to pretend there is no turf premium but it exists as long as players (rightly or wrongly) see it as a deficient playing surface.

He has a great eye for young talent and Mo makes fleecing other GMs as easy as a sheep herder with chloroform. But he obviously doensn't have a scouting infrastructure of any significant mention in place yet, and the teams' been around for two years.

Mo had no players last year given that it was an expansion team.

the team has done better this year but not because of Carver. It's because of the players Mo has brought in.

Carver is so inconsistent he doesn't know which players to use. He constantly changes players ans sits out his better players. If we had anyone else as a coach we would have at leat 5-6 more points in the standings.

For tomorrow's game and Tuesdays game this is what I'm proposing as a format

4-4-2 and no coach. Have Carver stay in the dressing room keeping the after game buffet warm.

Carver is a great coach in my opinion. He has to work with what he has. Unfortunatly it is not too much at the moment.

Carver has done a great job. We were leakig goals like a sieve last season and early this seaosn too, so he set about tightening up the defence, and now we're way mroe solid. He has made Velez look like a solid player, got the best out of Brennan and made us hard to beat.

I think what we're lacking is two things before we can become a great MLS team. A top notch striker (as everyone knows and Carver keeps reiterating) and decent back up for our starting XI attacking players. Get that in place, and we'll be a fearsome prospect I reckon (especially if Carver can get us over the road worries, which he will soon I'm sure).
