God, Cathal Kelly is a tedious, self-absorbed show-off and bore.

Not a fan of C. Kelly, you have to read through a lot of crap to get a few facts.

But this, this you can write a great article about, not just one sentence!

"Payne arrived in late November, ushered into a position that has never existed at the club — president and GM — by a concerned league."

I couldn't get past the nosestretcher about Anselmi being the guy who recruited him.

I think it wasn't much of a secret that it was the league that pushed for Payne. They basically did all they could to remove as much of MLSE influence in the team as they could, without forcing a sale.

What I found interesting and I didn't know was that there were 20 days off last year.. or at least I don't remember knowing that, though I do have a slight suggestion of a memory along those lines... (it's early ignore the babble) But if Winter had 20 days off for pre-season... that explains early injuries, lack of fitness and just how bad the team was.

You have to think that Winter gave up at some point before the season started.

Think it was a bit of a perfect storm.

League recognized that what was going on in Toronto wasn't good and it should change. Bogers as a new owner was undertaking an organizational review anyways and was more than receptive to tweaking operations.

I can't help but wonder if Winter wanted more of a preseason but was overruled by Mariner and/or Cochrane in order to undermine Winter. I don't want to deal with the past anymore, I just want to see the club move on from here and be sucessful. Of who is left, I think Cochrane has been effectively made impotent by Payne so he can't damage the club further.

You know, I was thinking Kelly was writing such bad stuff with his understanding his byline wasn't being used in the print version.

Then I realised he never does anything without focusing on his own special brand of self-promotion....

Not directly related to soccer, but I've heard a few people on here and MLSsoccer.com discussing the legitamcy of LA's sponsor:
