White Caps season tickets are a Caps Card this year similar to most clubs in Europe.

See video in link for details:

I think most fans would welcome this change. I would.

This would be awesome but Whitecaps do a lot of things that our club doesn't.

Here's a student season package with a free copy of FIFA: http://www.whitecapsfc.com/student-season-tickets

I've noticed that their production quality in videos is a lot higher too, everything they post is in 720p.

Note it's for two season tickets. Since EA Sports is a sponsor, it's not too big of a surprise.

We had our own great deal with BMO for TFC MasterCard holders (free authentic jersey). That was much more valuable than a copy of FIFA.

This kinda reminded me of the Porter Airline commercials. Pretty neat overall.

I personally like the tickets, having kept most of mine.

Perhaps MLSE has a contract with their ticket printer that hinders the ability to introduce the cards? Perhaps they'd rather keep a consistent process across all of their clubs, and the Leafs SSH may have said they prefer the printed tickets. I like the concept, and the points/rewards aspect, but have a feeling it must be more complex than simply deciding to go with a card next season.

but it includes a reward points system too. points for arriving early to games and buying food. points can then be used to redeem rewards.

The New York Red Bulls have been using cards for a couple of seasons.

Man UTD use a card as well. Even for single game tickets.

The Jays card is different in that when you go to the game, they'll scan your card and then print you a ticket.

NYRB actually have automated turnstiles, so you scan your card/ticket and the turnstile lets you in. It eliminates the need to have someone stand there to scan each ticket. Instead, they'll have someone there in case there's an error/issue. Think of the 'cashier' at the self-checkouts at the grocery store.

I like the points incentives. Especially the one that encourages fans to get to game early

I hope TFC switches to cards next year. The rewards system is a great idea, and will increase revenue for the club.

Be nice to be able to collect reward points if you go to other MLSE events, like the Marlies or the Leafs, and buy food, drink or whatever, at BMO, the ACC or Ricoh Coliseum.

How does this affect scalpers?

Yeah I've had seasons for last 5 seasons and its been cards every year. Imagine holding on to tickets for 81 games....not fun haha

They can still print off their tickets online to sell so it wouldn't have any impact at all.
