I'm trying to find his recent stats.

Has he actually played a professional game since spring 2012?

Interview with Ephraim. The interviewer is an idiot (IMO!) but shows how Ephraim has been treated at QPR and how he fell down the leagues on loan. He seem like a sensible kid.

Yeah, he's fallen really far down the pecking order at QPR. He's only played in that FA Cup loss to MK Dons. Hopefully he works hard with us, and we can sign him permenantly.

He's not in the 25 man premiership squad for QPR, so he can't play any league games for them! There are several players at QPR with that same problem right now. They have a bunch of players outside the 25 listed to play in the league.

All there.

True. I wonder though; he's played 94 games for QPR already and he's only 24, so he still has some development time left. He might end up as their first option yet. Seems he's had strings of games for them, then lost out to new signings, sort of perma second choice.

Probably a technicality, i agree, but one thing that concerns me is that if QPR are relegated, it's likely the qulaity players ahead of him on the depth chart are gone at season's end, pushing Ephraim up the charts, if guys like Wright-Phillips, Hoilett, and Park Ji-Sung are gone at season's end...

sounds like Ephraim feels he's been treated pretty shabbily by QPR, so he may not want to re-sign with QPR

Not a lot of goals but I'm sure he'll probably make it up with movement and defending.

we'll get to see if Ryan Nelsen has a good eye for talent and how it will translate in the MLS.

I'm pretty encouraged. The guy has a good pedigree and has played on some good teams. Stats seem lacking i cans see how it's hard for younger players to get into english first teams.

He's only played in that FA Cup loss to MK Dons. Hopefully he works hard with us, and we can sign him permenantly. He only made the bench if the stats at QPR's site are correct - http://www.qpr.co.uk/fixtures-results/match-report/index.aspx?matchid=3590359

The most recent appearance I can find for him was an April 2012 substitution in the 78th minute playing for Bristol City in the Championship, with his last start earlier the same month against Nottingham Forest - however he never seemed to play a full match for Bristol. The last full match I can find that he played was in December 2011 for (then) League One Charlton Athletic.

Hopefully this works well for us - though I wonder how long before he will be match fit. And his frequent loans give me pause.

I hope his ITC comes in before Saturday.

I'm excited to see what he can do.

Wileman (https://twitter.com/LukeWileman/status/306831687663378432) is saying the same thing.

Earlier it was reported as a full year loan... hopefully we can secure him for longer if he does well.

edit: He'll be available for Saturday (https://twitter.com/SNGerryDobson/status/306828918546120705).

Yeah he only has a contract with QPR until June 30th, so they can't loan him out any longer then that. So if we want him we'll have to decide by then.

As per me in another thread :

Yeah according to this: http://www.tribalfootball.com/articl...1#.US5YKDB9ZEU (http://www.tribalfootball.com/articles/new-qpr-deal-hogan-ephraim-3003941#.US5YKDB9ZEU)

And this: http://www.fulhamchronicle.co.uk/lon...2029-30497575/ (http://www.fulhamchronicle.co.uk/london-qpr/2012/03/09/winger-handed-surprise-qpr-deal-82029-30497575/)

His contract with QPR expires this MLS summer transfer window...

That tweet from Dobson says that TFC is "hopeful" he will be available Saturday. They've been "hopeful" of lots of things lots of times. We shall see if it actually pans out.

Hey, same here. First I was all excited, thought it was a done deal. Didn't notice the "hopeful" part until later.

Ephraim scores game winner on the 90th min. Runs to the South End and rips his jersey like Hulk Hogan. The ladies of RPB swoons

Interesting. But completely impossible to assess at this point.

Nelsen obviously knows what he is getting, so that's good.

With British players, it's hard to really have an opinion without knowing what they are getting paid (cap hit). The price of eggs can be so crazy over there.

I was excited about Ecks until I saw his salary in black and white. To remind you, Ecks played for Burnley, an utterly meaningless club. A far lesser club than QPR.

I found a reference to him on QPR's website playing in a reserve match in October, so he may have picked up some minutes although not with the senior team. Didn't find anything recently in terms of competitive matches.

To add - he (Ecks) didn't even play for them. Was loaned out to League One sides before coming here.

After being a fan favourite for a season or two, Hogan turns heel after hitting Nelsen with a leg drop during warm-up. Along with (Jeremy) Hall and (Martin) Nash he declares the New World Organization and runs riot over MLSE.

Ahh OK. Well, no offence, but *that is actually utterly irrelevant*. Should we be looking at ex-Accrington players too?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Accrington_F.C.

But I had no idea, until looking it up now, that Burnley had won the first division as recently as 1960. So they were a major club once.

Burnley, an utterly meaningless club.

I'm sure there are a few thousand Burnley fans that would disagree with you! Plus, I'm sure Burnley could give a lot of MLS clubs a good run for their money.

In any event, dare I say that Ephraim might be one of the most skilled wingers we've ever had, and he's still young. Hopefully, his game will translate well to the MLS style of play.

Burnley were a Prem club not too long ago. Anyways, who cares where he played, so long as he can help us. He definitely adds to our width in the lineup (Lambe might as well head back to Bermuda), so that's all I care about.

Who was that guy we had from MK dons again.... Damn it old age!

Ali Gerba was from mk dons.

And actually i think Reggie Lambe is a pretty talented player. He would be one of the few keepers from the Mariner era if you ask me.

As I mentioned in another thread - loan deals are generally win/win. As crazy as Ecks wage is, I believe we only paid $75,000 when he was on loan.
