OSL and OYSL

TFCA is trying to make a deal with OSA to have their academy(U13-U16) teams play year up in OYSL(this one might end up in court if they get allowed, since they did not qualified for the OYSL,and in that case they should allow SAAC academies like Sigma to participate too,and because stupid residency rule), junior and senior academy now might be forced to play in OSL.

Sigma FC academy teams are already playing in OSL,their U16 team last year played OSL U21 that's up to 5 years age difference and even though OSL is not such a high league playing against man makes the boys to move the ball around since physically they don't stay the chance, great way to develop boys to play possession game with movement instead of individual dribbling trough the team in their own age or year up.

Report: CSA cuts ties with CSL (http://www.sportsnet.ca/soccer/2013/01/31/csa_cuts_ties_with_csl/)

CSA cuts ties with Canadian Soccer League (http://www.cbc.ca/sports/soccer/opinion/2013/01/csa-cuts-ties-with-canadian-soccer-league.html)

Just want to quote this since there is so much crapping on the CSA. This is the ballsy-est thing I've seen them do in over a decade. I honestly thought they were going to ride this scandal out after all this time. They said they would have guidelines the teams needed to meet and the league AS A WHOLE didn't meet them. Let's highlight the fact that this is the CSA stepping away from a league, the highest level league in Canada, because a couple of teams couldn't play by the rules of transparency that the CSA was trying to enforce.

Today should be huge for supporters of local football. It's a day where action was taken, where the suspect few resulted in a loss to the many and Canada will lose relevance to one of the few leagues it had to grow.

This is a step back to jump forward. I predict for a time this unsanctioned league will continue in the relative obscurity its enjoyed until recent years. I hope this results in the beginning of the sanctioned Ontario League One with several of the CSL teams jumping to a sanctioned league and in a couple seasons this will mean it will be easier or more feasible to have a nation wide tournament under one association ala the CHL.

Good Luck and Godspeed to those behind the scenes trying to make this a reality.

What's with all the lard asses at camp?

I'm glad Payne is calling them out.

I wonder how the new semi-pro Ontario Soccer League can give membership to
old CSL teams if there is an obvious match-fixing problem?
Will the OSA continue to get sanctioning from the CSA?

Maybe I'm missing something...

D, the CSA asked a ridiculously low level of transparency from the CSL teams and there were only a couple that couldn't or did not want to comply. That is the reason the CSA is not giving sanction to the league. These OSA league would need to meet these relatively bare minimum levels of transparency to make the first step to quell shenanigans.

Wow, so we could end up with the exact same issue... just with a lower level league.
I hope the OSA has some accountability here.

I'm not a fan of singling out players in public. Praise in public, criticize in private. But if I'm to take a guess....

Which ones??

On a serious note, if you google image him, there are some shirtless photos of him... His face looks a lot more "around" then it should for the form of his body. So I'm not confident that he's one of the turkey demolishers.

Based on KP's interview on the Soccer Show, he had high praise for Califf and the way he conducted himself. Not sure if it's him either.

KP said that he was disappointed in those players that had ignored their off-season workout regimens and that TFC should have been watching them a little more closely. Califf was just brought in during the draft so he might not be in that boat.

I hope it's none of the players I just watched play for Canada.

Kevin also made a comment in one of the interviews that basically said - these young players have to learn they can't come into pre-season out of shape. And he spoke positively about Danny Califf.

Did you see his interview video?

Has about 30 lbs around his waste: http://www.torontofc.ca/video/2013/01/22/tfclive-media-day-danny-califf

He is way bigger then how he looks when in game shape. I realise he has a round face, but this video clearly shows a spare tire to go with it.
