Happy New Year.

A poignant story about the redemption of another horrible team. Hope it doesn't take us 4 more years.

My son is 21 now, and a season ticket holder. We've just moved to the South Stands, albeit in different sections, and we have high hopes that this is the year.

We went to see our Reds play DC United last year...camping at a national park less than 11 miles from the White House on the May 2-4 weekend. We were at the record setting 9th consecutive loss to start an MLS season. Despite that, we had a fantastic time in D.C. On the drive home, we stopped at Three Mile Island, which meant that we saw two truly epic fails in one weekend. We also saw two truly epic successes: the Apollo 11 capsule, and the Wright Flyer.

It doesn't necessarily take a winning team to create or strengthen bonds between a father and a son...in our case, we've done some pretty awesome things together.
