Jim,
Next week we will be hosting our Relocation Event and you're invited! This is the annual event where Season Ticket Holders come to BMO Field and have a look at relocation options.

Your relocation appointment time: Thursday, December 6, 2012 at 2:00pm

If you are satisfied with your current seat location, no action is required as your renewal has secured your seats for the 2013 season.

What I am satisfied about is we have a new President !!!

I had to relocate my seats to Accessible a couple seasons ago due to my wife's disability. There is no difference in cost for the seats so you pay the price for the section you are in. Talk to your rep about the Accessible move ahead of time to work it out. My rep told me not to bother with the relocation event and he would put me in accessible seating after the event was wrapped up and that is what happened. Since you are looking for additional seats you will need to attend the event anyway but you should be able to confirm the Accessible move first. Good luck.

I'm a bit worried about scalpers, with no restrictions on the # of seats per account. I bet some of them took a bath last year, so I was hoping we would see less scalping. However, with renewals supposedly going OK, and with a bit of hope returning with the Payne announcement, I'm worried the scalpers may pick up some more cheap seats at least, probably little risk in those. But of course that means not much will be left for the rest of us who want to relocate -- plus limited availability for single-ticket sales next season (Ticket Trader or the box office), and more turnover in the seats with random (often drunk) fans boys showing up for a game to "have some fun."

South-end tickets are still limited to 4, so the scalpers will only be picking up more expensive tickets.

I just called TFC Front Office to verify once and for all about purchasing additional supporter seats during the SSH relocation event, even if you have a max of 4 seats in your account already, such as myself.

The answer was, YES. No-limit (rep I spoke to was D'arcy)

This worries me alot because if the scalpers get in there....the supporter experience is finished at BMO Field.

My appointments @ 5pm tomorrow. Hoping I could secure an extra 2 for my extended family ;).

We should buy them all and maintain complete control in the south! :) ( I wish)

Hoping everything works out this week for everyone. Let's try to include/upload some pics of the relocation event appointments like we have in the past to estimate inventory.

It hadn't actually occurred to me that people would use the price drop to move out of the south stand to seats between the goals.

My dream of moving to the south stand just became a little bit more realistic...maybe I should upgrade from a dream to a hope?

Plus, when people move in the next few days, their seats will open up to those that come after. So regardless of what is available after today, there is a chance going forward that options will remain for those with later timeslots.

Fact is, there really is little security at BMO, all you need is a ticket in the door. If you want to stand, you'd have no problem finding room in supporters sections. I spent a total of 2 halves in my actual seat last season. I don't anticipate that being a problem this year either. With the resurgence of the Jays, TFC is going to have a hard time building momentum to bring back the atmosphere and sold out crowds of the early years.

I think there were far more reasons to be optimistic last season. Then the team did so poorly, the marketing strategy has been to press the reset button. Obviously, in terms of selling tickets it has worked.

I hate to say this - because we've had false confidence so many times before - but Kevin Payne inspires a lot of confidence. Maybe it won't lead to other worldly success, but I can at the very least see logic behind what the front office tries to do, which would be a huge improvement.

Was at the event at 12 today. When standing in line , KP came by and shook each of our hands. Then went to the registration room to give the speech mentioned above. As for seats available. SUPPORTERS: 110 and 112-114 are blocked off, no tickets made available as promised. Approx 25-30 seats available in 111. Other supporters section had some. Slim Pickings in LIGHT GREY: About 20 seats available inside NEE Section 127, 10 in 226, 7 in 227. 20 avail in 220. less then 10 in 219. Not much in 105, 104. Variety of seats in other sections. Some nice 2nd row seats in RED and DARK GREY categories if you can afford them. Did not see any available seats in 1st Row.

I agree. We know from the renewing/not renewing threads that there were openings in that section. While I agree it is important to ensure the supporters sections are allowed to continue (an in doing so there has to be an effort to make sure people buying into it know what they are getting into --- unlike the Liverpool friendly fiasco), some clarity on this policy, and the process of how vacant seats would be distributed would be appreciated.

Was at the 530.
Not even a single available in 119.

Got 3 in 117, fairly low to the field. That replaced my pair in 120, so I gained 1 extra seat and saved $380.

It's kinda fitting, I spent season 1 in 117 (1 row in front of where I am now) and spent the next 5 seasons relocating to different areas. Now they drop the price to season one levels, and I too am back to where I started!

Hello,

My time was 2:30 today, as of the 2:00pm there were no seats in upper 110, at 2:30 magically a pair opened up and I grabbbed them Row 25 seats 7-8, there were quite a few in 111, not too many in the south end, mainly the south-east, maybe about 25-30 seats that I could estimate.

Absolutely they've got to be holding seats back. Someone earlier said there's not much in the light greys, which is where I expected to be looking as my relocation is at 4pm tomorrow. To me its pretty obvious that there's light greys that they've got pegged as partial pack/walk up tickets that they don't/won't put into the SSH mix. I've got light blues and looking to save a few $$$ so I will go and see what's available. Light blues are nice seats with a great angle and good sightlines, but $28/game ain't worth it when south end now go for $10. Cup holders are nice, but not worth $18 each time out!

glaze
12-06-2012, 09:45 PM
its a misconception that all seats are available for purchase. They have an allotted amount for seasons seats, and an amount for partial packs, single game seats, group sales etc. And there are definately seats in 110 and 111 that are partial seats, I know because I had a pair like that 2 seasons ago, and last season spent a couple games flirting with a girl in 111 who was on a partial.
The reason for seats opening up would have to do with the turnover from session to session. While some people may be picking up additional seats, people who move will be opening up theirs. There really is alot of luck of the draw.
It would be interesting to see how the attendance for the various sessions works out. I assume not everyone will be as eager as those who signed up year one and were in there today.

Kevin Payne and Paul came by when I was in line to process my relocation. Kevin was very out there shaking hands and willing to talk. He even stopped to talk to my son for a bit.

My fist impression (from a few minutes observing him interact with people) was that he was a mature, confident executive that definitely understands that he is in the customer service business. He also nailed my son as a centre back in the first few seconds so he may know something about soccer... Here's hoping...

As for Paul, he seemed very quiet and cautious - Just like a guy who has a new boss that he needs to impress in an environment he can't control. It was interesting that Paul chose to stand by Kevin as he spoke to people but not interact with anyone himself. No handshakes, smiles or babies kissed at all...

I understand they hold back and manage their seats. What irks me is that if I wanted to move into the light greys tomorrow, and none are 'available' during the luck of the draw, I know there's still inventory available but just not accessible to me. It would be good from a SSH perspective (Mr. Payne, do you hear me?!) to allow me to get the seat that I want over holding it for partial packs if the seat is actually unsold and meets their internal criteria for numbers of seasons sold etc. A few years ago a buddy got a partial in 104 in row 6 closer to midfield just before the season started, while another buddy moved into the same section at the winter relocation, row 18 or something just off of the rail. In my mind it would be fairer that the SSH buddy get the row 6 seat if that's what he wanted. Just my 2 cents.

That has to be the case as it will piss people off people like me who renewed hoping to move to a cheaper seat. My rep even told me that my best option was to get a cheaper seat in relocation if possible.

Well they send me a e-mail on Wednesday for my appointment time an said that it will give me an idea of the seats available. So ill post it here when I get it.

110 is being held for the 109 group as some of their members want to move into a true supporters section, it kind of reminds me, whatever became of the Lakeside Loonies, a group that was kicking around 119. I am looking forward to my relocation at 5 pm, I notice the locker room will be open, anyone thinking of trying out the showers, wonder what the hot water pressure is like.

To be honest I will be amazed if any of you buying seasons from scratch get a whiff of the yellow or light grey seats, but I wish you all the best. I'm at 4:30 Friday and I doubt I'll get too much to chose from.

I agree with the complaining about the process and there are real 'injustices' in the seats they hold back. At the same time though you will still have it easy compared to those of us who had to buy Ransom Packs because there were NO season seats available. That was for two years, then I had medium blues which cost about $1100 each. Last year I had to buy 2 singles in 111 and I finally felt like I had made it, price-wise.

So I guess I am saying two things.

1. You've really got it easy at this point, so don't sweat it too much.

2. A hard road to what you want makes you appreciate it even more when you arrive. I know, it's cheesy. But it's true.

I went to checkout the locker room a few yrs back at the relocation event, I walked in on a naked player and left there feeling quite awkward.
Hopefully there won't be anyone changing in there later today!

If your debate is whether to go down or not......maybe check with your rep. I have a meeting scheduled today that I was going to postpone because it conflicted with my relocation time. I fired off an email to my rep telling her exactly what I was looking to do today at relocation.....I have 2 pairs of seats. 2 in 115 and 2 in 116. My goal was to at least move the 116 seats into 115...and a bigger goal was to be able to put all 4 together in a row. I asked her what was the likelihood of that happeneing. She got back to me very quickly and told me that probably postponing my meeting would be a bad idea. There was only 1 seat in 115 according to her inventory. Obviously that can change as people shuffle around seats and could be incorrect if her inventory wasn't up to date....but I am not taking the chance so opted not to go.....

I didn't ask about the south end availablity, but I am sure your rep can give you at least a ballpark idea....might save you a trip down that you don't need to make.

There is no way the entire inventory of cheaper seats would be put up for relocation. Doing so opens up the distinct possibility of a mass exodus from the more expensive seats to cheaper seats. This represents a direct decrease in revenue. Then TFC will have to try and move more expensive seats for new STH & singles, which is going to be harder than moving cheaper seats. They will release enough to make it look like a fair process.

I bet there will be no problem for new STH's getting cheaper tickets in the non-supporters sections.

Honestly - what would be the benefit to TFC to open the whole inventory up? I can't see one.

Account management and account relations.

I had my relocation yesterday, which means I have been around longer than many current seat holders. What if I had tried for years to get into a specific section/row/seat and couldn't, but some newb off the street/wait list was offered what it was I was looking for? There's advantages to at least showing off the inventory.

I do understand why it's important to hold back as well though.

You're probably right about a mass exodus if that were the case, but I do know people that want to be at centre and sit behind the bench as well - they've got no interest in moving. But yes, you clearly see it at CCL games where the corners and south end are full and everything else is sparse.

Hope you're right about cheaper non-supporters Brad. I guess I'll see today at 4!

There's no real benefit to TFC for doing this from a business perspective, but as I mentioned earlier - if there's seat inventory that is unsold, and I want to buy it, they are telling me that I can't and those seats are for walk ups, groups and partial packs, not me as a SSH. I would think being a SSH and commiting the $$ for the entire season upfront, it would be nice to be given access to a seat before the walk ups and partial pack sales. THAT, to me would be an advantage of being a SSH.

They could say that those tickets came available at a later relocation when someone upgraded and you'd have no idea if that's was true or not. Even if they aren't holding anything back - the scenario you describe exists because of the process

Would be interested to know how many of the seats were going through relocation, and how many were being purchased as additional seats by existing SSH's. The incentive to buy extra seats I would imagine is mostly due to the new pricing. While we on this board may be looking to pick up an extra pair, I would be concerned that scalpers were buying up the inventory.
It seems that there were many non-renewals, based on the earlier posts from day 1, how did this compare to other years?

I ask if I can stick around and wait for 2 seats together to pop up in a later group. 1st guy says sure. 2nd guy says no, that wouldn't be fair. I explain to him that my seniority would trump all groups after me. He basically says 'too bad, call us on Monday.'

When they eliminated the 4 ticket max, I had a feeling this would happen. The account reps main focus is selling the seat. After last season they would love to be able to once again tout that the stadium is 100% sold out. Plus, with the price drop there is too much incentive to be in a light grey section. How many people are jumping in there as supporters, and how many just for price?

Getting down there in rush hour wouldve been brutal to make it to my 6 appointment and then there is no gurantee as to what i can get and it may mean I miss my hockey game tonight. I asked my rep for an estimate of whats available in the sections im interested in and response was some available. Yeah...I thought it was going to be really good when they unravelled the Phoenix at the first game. Of note: i walked throughout the players dressing room and noticed something. all the lockers had players names on them. some members had mentioned that payne had made a trade but could not disclose who it involved. In the dressing room i noticed that avila, weideman, and the others are missing. we all know these players are in the re-entry draft. One name that was also missing was JOHNSON. One guy grabbed like 8 seats in the yellows section 118 in the first timeslot, then another guy grabbed like a bunch in 110 on my second timeslot.

I have the feeling scalpers bought up a lot of tickets.

Thanks to Klinsmann for the photos. I'll take some Saturday morning (hopefully will need to change my avatar).

As for people grabbing 8 tickets...I suppose it's possible that the guy was giving up six in the first place and so could grab another pair. Then again, he could have done like Techno did and had the proxy for some friends.

I hope that the Front Office does something about this. If scalpers are grabbing large chunks of real estate in Supporters Sections, we'll never get the atmosphere back.

Looks like there may have to be a number of RPBs taking over 127. We may have to find a way to stand together.

Maybe convince the Capo in front of 112 to use one of the FRS radios as a sort of wireless microphone.

3 seats in lower 110
Nothing 111 to 120
nothing in 127
3 in 126
plenty in 105-109
some in the west too but spread out

I was just at the 12:00 session too and there was actually a pair in 127 that I was going to relocate to (from 219) but my 13 got trumped by a dad and his 2 year old son who had a 6. Said he hopes no one stands this year which hurts me even more.

At 10 am there were 16 seats in 127: 4 sets of four. By 10:30, there were 20, as my two pair in there were added to the mix (two in row 14 and two in row 15).

There were also three at the top of 111, a pair beside the rail and one at the rail in the row below.

However, the guy who I stood beside in 127 had grabbed that pair and was thinking of taking the other one as well. So that should have added two more in 127.

Shame the father and son didn't want your pair from 219. He'd probably be much happier up there if he wants to sit and watch a game as opposed to participating.

Because you just know that he's not going to yell "You're not playing 'cause you're shit!" at the opposing substitutes as they warm up.

I lucked out hard. Getting into 105, row 26, which is front row for light grey. Nothing like paying half the price as the row I'm resting my feet on. Gonna be fun to heckle Montreal support and get back in the bloody sunshine. West side sucks when it's cold, the sun makes a decent difference and half our season is in the cold.

Thanks to all who provided info about relocation availability! It encouraged me to bike through the rain & construction muck Friday evening, and attend the 5pm Fri. relocation event. (No cameos from KP or others at that time.) I was able to move a few seats to the left, still close to some friends, but switching from section 225 to 226 & saving a cool $500 on a pair of seats. That was exactly where I wanted to move, and I was amazed nobody else headed for that pair of seats. (I was sure I would get bumped, being #34 in the priority within that Fri. 5pm group.) I'll need to update my location on the boards; back to where I started with a Marlies ransom pack a few years ago.

I got the only available pair in Section 226/227 (light grey) at the time. If anyone is interested to hear what else was generally available at 6pm on Friday, I can let you know. However, based on the previous posts, there were enough changes during the last relocation events on Saturday that the Friday evening info is probably not very useful. It would be interesting to compare the final relocation availability on Saturday, with the seats that are made available to season ticket holders whenever that process starts.

When I was there Friday night there were some light greys in the 200 sections. Couldn't see many in the 100s (maybe 104). There were some medium greys as well. You're not going to find any yellows coming in for your first season tickets. I got my first seasons in 2010, and I have yet to see any yellows available at my two relocations. Your best bet is to get in now with the cheapest seats you can and hope over three or four years you move up enough in the priority to get a shot at yellows.

and it doesn't hurt to be happy splitting up your seats and taking singles. That's how I got into the yellows a few years back. Unfortunately I still can't get the seats together. Usually it doesn't matter as you just stand together but every now and then you'll get some visitor in the section who demands to stand directly in front of their assigned seat like being one foot closer to the net will make some major difference.

That's because they went back to year 1 pricing, in which they were really pushing the cheaper seats in order to get fans to take a chance on this football experiment. The pricing structure is ridiculous, as we have noted with the example of the light blues compared to the yellows. It will be interesting to see what they do with the pricing next year.

But as noted above, if your heart is set on being an SSH in a supporters section all you need is a ticket in the door. My seat last year was in 104, and I spent a total of 2 halves all season in it. Otherwise I was with friends in 110 or 111.

Scored 2 in light blue. 551 per seat renewal would have been 513. However got two Raptor tickets with a face value of 54 bucks each. Glad to have my own seats now.

That's balls!!!! I've been a season seat holder since year two. I didn't get raptors fix when i renewed my seasons in dark greys.(renewed after the early bird deadline) i still believe i should of gotten a pair even just for renewing.

Yeah, in my opinion you should have. The guy there said the tiickets were only available to those who bought today. So if anyone was down there and decided to wait until Monday they are S O L as well.

103 funny thing though the ticket says 54 bucks but the seating chart says 64. I guess they dropped the price.

By the time my 2:00 appointment yesterday, all that was left in light grey was up in section 220. So I got two singles - one in row 11 and row 14.

Not too happy with the seats - would have preferred 111 but I'll most likely come down after the game has started.

Happy to become a SSH!

that's some bullshit.

Fact.

Yet the process remains unchanged since day 1. The second guy to buy ST's of 14000 can have less selection than the last.

It goes like this:

Want to relocate? Sign up.

You are given a time slot - which for 95% of people is not do-able without booking time off work etc. Like fighting tickets in court.

Everything is done in sequence regarding when you bought tix. But...

All the sign-ups are grouped together in lots of 50 or so. The 50th guy to sign up is SOL since he has the lowest priority of his group. The 51st guy is golden and can trump anyone else in his group and lap up whatever tix he wants - it was up to six total the first year it was done, now it is unlimited? Going by whatever is available - whoever didn't renew in amongst those before him.

Everything else account-related can all be done online. A half-assed programmer could write something in a day that would make things equitable. But that would make it too easy to give MLSE less money.

The horror.

If there's 3 or 4 singles in light-grey, that's just luck of the draw. Must have been dropped near the end of the relocation event last week. Or perhaps dropped in the phone relocation over the last week.

What's the point of priority when they are going by "luck of the draw".

had the same appointment time...my dad got me 220 row 15, literally 3 seats from 221...imagine that, my seat cost me $285, while the person 10-15 feet away will be paying $500ish depending if they are a first time buyer or not

TFC homepage has the Twitter feed along the right side ... just noticed one from an hour ago that says:

Officially a @torontofc (https://twitter.com/torontofc) season ticket holder! AND scored them in Supporters Sec 111!!! My #TFC (https://twitter.com/search?q=%23TFC) 2013 Wish came true! #TFCLive (https://twitter.com/search?q=%23TFCLive)

How'd this guy get seats in the supporters (and in his first year nonetheless)?!?

That was me!

I had the first time slot (10AM). There were 2 singles in Sec 111, and I grabbed them. They're not together side by side, but are in front of eachother 2 rows apart.
I had half season's in that section last year... I don't think I'll have a problem most games moving around a bit and standing together.

Also, Sec 111 isn't one of the "Yellow" Supporters sections in the South End (there were none of those available), it's the last section on the sidelines in the southeast corner (light grey).
But it's still designated as a "Supporters Section" with all the same rules (ie. you can stand all game). This was VERY important for me - more so than the cheaper price.
There's nothing worse than having seats in front of someone who doesn't really give a crap about the team, and having them bitch at you to sit down.

Either way, I was suprised I was able to get them as well... but extremely happy about it!!!

Yeah, that's messed up for sure. There's got to be a better way to do this whole seat pricing thing.

Yeah, that's messed up for sure. There's got to be a better way to do this whole seat pricing thing. You could go to a system where every seat is a different price. Though most teams in various sports use what TFC uses, where ultimately there are going to be different people in the same price zone who have much better seats than others - and places in the stand where two people close together are paying very different prices.

Only way would be to have more pricing levels and more complexity. Keeping it simple, you'll always someone across the aisle, or a few rows below you paying substantially more/less.

The ultimate way would be to have specific seat pricing, with a gradient across the whole stadium. But then you coud have one of your seats at $250, the other at $255 and the guy a few sets down only paying $244. My head already hurts. If everyone knows the pricing and how it works, you will pay what you think is appropriate. If 109 as dark grey is too expensive, move into lower 110 for medium or (best deal in the stadium) upper 110 for light greys. That's where the biggest price disparity is, the 109/105 upper darks and the 110/104 upper light greys, because of the split sections. Everywhere else is fine.

I really like the way the re-location is done...

Personally, I would have never moved my seats, had I not been able to go sit in my new ones, then current ones, back to new ones, etc etc and see if I really wanted to make the move...

I simply shifted closer to mid-pitch, while staying in the same section/price range... But it's a good move...

The pricing is screwed up, the light blues as mentioned numerous times are a prime example. And MLSE's continued ignorance to that, as well as the non-reduction in face value of tickets for this year is a sign that this price correction may only be a 1-year thing. If light blue was reclassified as light grey, the club would probably sell alot more tickets. I have a feeling that section is going to be empty all year (as it was 2 years ago).

Very happy with the process this year (though still shocked that I caved and went in for seasons). I have much better seats now than I did two years ago when I was a season seat holder, and for less money. Pretty pleased, even if this year is still likely a writeoff.

A friend of mine is in the light blue section and loves it. I asked him if he was looking to downgrade to a cheaper section at relocation time he said no he doesn't want to leave the light blue section. He is just looking to move closer to the front of it. It wouldn't be my first choice if I was him but hey, there are people that like to be there and don't really care about the cost as much. I think it could still be fairly empty though if we have another crappy season. I don't think there are too many people like friend.

I feel the same as your friend. I first sat in light blue's for the concaf games and just loved it. Mind you I was in row 1 for those games. I got section 133 row 9 (That was as close to9 the front as I could get). In the future I hope to get to row 1 someday but in the meantime Light blue provides a great view of the ball heading toward the net. well for one end anyway. Plus the R S grill is right there and easy exit to the go train.

You can count me amongst those that loves the light blue (north end stand) - and didn't even consider moving despite having an early Thursday appointment time this year. I don't want to commit to standing all game, but like the perspective of seeing the width of the field. The extra height makes all the difference to me as well - I'm close to the net on one side but still have a reasonable view of the other end since the section is higher. I was in 126 for 4 years but much prefer 132 - and think that $28 per game is a great value for the view there (especially in row 1). Others around me seem to feel the same.

My point isn't to convince anyone else that I'm right and they're wrong about what's good value - it's more to say that people value different things as a spectator - and there's definitely a defensible case for wanting to sit in the north end at this price (even if given your choice of location).

Im sure there is someone there complaining still.

we are paying the same for section 20/21 as someone with better seats at midfield (26/28/30). And the guy across the aisle is paying even less in section 17! BCFC FO needs to smarten up and get this straightened out. My cousin in Toronto (similar stadium) sent me this link with their ticket prices. If it was the same, my tickets would be a third of the midfield prices!

cant please everyone, and the grass is always greener. Except at BMO, our grass is always green.
