Mensah for sure!.

Mensah and O'dea would be the best pairing in the league by far.

Also there is another Ghanian I think we should try to bring in: Ahmed Barusso,CDM

with his contract expiring we maybe be able to pry him away from his current club Novara(loan).

Thanks for the info Yohan and thanks for the video DoubleUp. If I had any faith in TFC to hire the necessity that is Mensah than I would hope.....but:(

(LM)Roston Drenthe would be a DP. Best left winger in the league and maybe the (N.A.)continent.

(CB)Tal Ben Haim could possibly sneek by a high salary guy.

(CB/RB) John Mensah, I think would be a good CB, I would pay him O'Dea money. I think he's more of a RB though.

If Winter was still here, Royston Drenthe would be a good buy, but idk if he would work with PM's crazy plans. Mensah is getting paid 2million EURO, im not sure if he would take a O'Dea money????

Miguel would be a Marvel Wynn with talent.

thats one way to add offense while fixing you defence. espcially with this hoof and run ball.

There are some very tallented names on that list. But, most are either way too old, way too injury prone, or way too crazy-in-the-head (Drenthe!). I'd love to see an on-field bust up between Mariner and Drenthe, would be worth the season ticket price alone!

Mensah is not getting anything because he's out of work/contract, and we should definitely inquire with O'dea money or Max before DP money.

Is this the same Mensah which one commentor at the world cup called him "The Rock" of the team.

I remember him being stud CB, dominating at his position. I think he is way above what TFC can pay him.

I think Drenthe would be right at home in Mariner's philosophy of letting players do whatever the fuck they want off the pitch.

Unfortunately he's not exactly the character that you want of a DP. He also shaved his dreads, so he's lost part of his awesome factor

Yes i remember now, his actual nickname is "THE ROCK OF GIBRALTAR".

Interesting to note he was trialing for Wes tHam in Sep of this year, i think the fear is his back wont hold up for a full year. I think though he is one of the most underated CB's, he played well for Sunderland in the prem buy injury kind of screwed him.

I would like Mensah but Mensah and O'Dea, will not be solid but hardly the best pairing in the MLS, (Ferrarri and Nesta for my money).

I strongly disagree and think Nesta is pass his best.

^ He is older and injury prone, but as a player he is still far ahead of either Mensah and O'Dea. You are talking about one of the best CBs in the world for the 2000s while Mensah was a decent player and O'Dea a journeyman professional.

In his last season at Milan was still playing incredible football, and did very well in the CL. He left Milan because he is getting old, not because he could no longer play.

But as I said Mensah would be a great signing for us.

Nesta is too slow at this point.

We forget that Nick Garcia was once one of the best defenders in MLS. By the time we got him, it looked as if his feet were stuck in quicksand.

Nesta is a legend. However, it's sad to see a one-time great player being run-around by younger players. Sometimes it's best to retire while you're still great.

Would I want to see Nesta at TFC? No more than I'd want to see Nick Garcia. One needs to take a step back and look more objectively at what the player is like today.

That being said, there are probably quite a few good Serie A players who could be pried away for an experience in North America. To get those would require serious connections, and would they be willing o play in a place that's not called New York or LA?

Nesta's positioning and marking is still great, but he loses to foot races against even average MLS players.

Yes, and positionaly and skill wise he is far ahead of any MLS cb, a good CB should not let himself get caught in foot races, in most leagues that is a race he losses more often then not, a good CB should read the game and be in aposition to cut of the attack, Nesta can still do that. Having said that Nesta is clearly not the player he once was, but him and Ferrari can make the best pairing in the MLS, if they both stay healty, which I think is the biggest question.

Your right about Nesta but I think as whole the Mls is a much more open league and the speed is nothing to take lightly, unless they can get the whole impact squad to play like a serie A team I think he'll be exposed.

He'll always be world Class at reading the game, but the body has to follow.

By open you mean crappy right? Nesta would have real problems playing for TFC because he would be in the right spot and the rest of the D wouldn't be.......So at that point foot speed would be a real problem.
