Final round of voting for RPB 2012 Man of the Year is open. And once again one of the voters will receive a TFC Academy journal!

Is this all that MEEJA people were asking for? I mean it's sports in Toronto: If its bad news, it's news.

Well bad news sells better,no?

I think it is a BAD News that mariner and Cochrane will be here in 2013,and media is not doing enough to chase them out of town.

From the Globe and Mail article(third story listed)...

Director of team and player operations Earl Cochrane says the team has flexibility on the “vast majority of contracts,” and TFC also has the luxury of the No. 1 pick in next January’s SuperDraft, an asset that Mariner has stressed must be turned into an “impact player.”

Does anybody know which player(s) we are getting from Montreal? ;)

This is extremely troubling to me. Is Mariner really going to find value for money in Europe? Look at how much the team has to pay for Eckersley and O'Dea. The cap is already out of control because of them. If that is the cost of doing business with players coming for Europe, what is the point?

I think what he really means by scouting Europe is to take his winter vacation back home in England.

There is a high scoring Bermudan playing in League Two. We will probably sign him.

^This was my feeling as well. Mariner is there to discover some untapped Bermudan talent in League Two or the Conference.

It's certainly possible, isn't it?

After all, Mo used to take those "scouting trips" in Brazil every winter. Never did bring back a player, though.

This is my point. The media is writing bad news when people want them to.

There is no justification for hope with Mariner as coach in 2013.

Right. It's nothing more than lip service. There's no reporting here.

We are probably going to spend all our allocation money on trying to pry Nahki Wells from Bradford.

Vancouver found Rochat, Montreal found Felipe. NY has lots of Europeans on a fair contract.

With our luck, Adam Braz will come out of retirement and we'll trade the first pick for him. :(

Yes and Mariner found average defenders who make $390K and $426K. If that makes you confident in his scouting trip, then good for you.

"For Mariner to come out and say that he's the right guy for the job because he's very, very good at what he does, you know, the evidence just doesn't back up that assertion."

Also awesome that de Vos calls out us not using the South American market, and Uncle Paul is off to where? The UK. Of course.

109 players have worn the jersey. INCREDIBLE.

I honestly don't think he's scouting. He's taking a vacation.

I don't think you're right. But if you are, then he just lied on the record, since he's the one telling the media that he's off to the UK to look for players TODAY.

He has lied in the past.

I'm sure he'll fit in a few Bradford games so he can scout Bermudan stand out Nahki Wells.

Funny, de Vos was the one that was championing Cochrane since before Winter was hired AND was doing the same for Mariner when Winter was fired. This is why I don't want him anywhere near the club

De Vos? I'd be concerned on so many 180's but there was reason each time IMO. I think it's far worse when someone can't admit the opposite to be true and change their POV.

I can't believe that less stubborn chefs in the TFC kitchen wouldn't have helped. I don't know. It seems like there's enough blame for everyone here.

Cochrane was shopping for players without a team strategy,
Winter was looking to get talent that wasn't there from Cochrane and then,
Mariner couldn't find it after being appointed and then got frustrated and got players he'd like.
Great co-operation guys.

Or maybe he's off to watch Bermudian Jonte Smith who has been playing with Metropolitan Police FC the 7th tier of English football.
