All signs point to torn ligaments, either ACL/MCL as they often happen when the foot is planted - worst case. Best case pulled or sprained. Best care won't ensure a speedier recovery - if it's tears, IIRC it's around 6 months before training again. However, there is a list of athletes who tore ACLs and were never the same again.

Someone who is going through and ACL tear is GSP who (if all goes well) will have sat out for almost a year between fights.

My thoughts exactly, Koef was running rough shod over the defense and showing no respect for Joseph. Manhandling them off the ball and holding it up beautifully. It seemed to me that Koef was playing like a man 10 years younger and dominating in all facets. Than that SOB, Tierney cleaned him off his feet in a vulnerable position.
