Thing's we'll hear said less frequently now he's gone : "row Z"

I'll hold onto the memory I have of him flattening some opposing player (this was probably against Dallas in the CCL last year), collecting the ball and sliding it into the back of the goal. Edit - or was it against Columbus...

Unbelievable stuff really - I thought he should have been booked.

I also liked the way he would set off in one direction and turn completely around and go in the other one.

And his hair - the way it used to be - the stuff of comedy gold.

Best of luck JDG - a pity it didn't really go well for you here.

BTW, if you're looking for your CNMT jacket, your brother has it. I think he wanted to see how it felt to play for a Senior Men's National Team.

Best of luck to Julian. Loved his play in Champions League and while it didn't go as planned during league play I look forward to seeing him with he national team.

Our first Canadian Designated Player. I was always rooting for you.

I'll always appreciate Pookie's JDG Teddy Bear avatar (with the wild hair) that was around for about a year or so. Best avatar ever.

Definitely wish JDG best of luck. He never really looked great for us, but maybe he just needs a different team. Cheers!

Good luck JDG, I'll miss seeing you on the field, but this is probably best for everyone. No hard feelings, I hope.

On a good day he's one of the best midfielders in the league. He can completely dominate a match when he plays to his potential - Cruz Azul, @ Dallas in CCL last year, etc.

Unfortunately, he hasn't had nearly enough "good days" for a player making nearly $2 million per. Far too inconsistent and doesn't raise the level of his teammates.

Good luck to him in Dallas, and looking forward to seeing him with the CMNT (where he's always strong, for whatever reason)

Hopefully everything goes well for you Julian, you were used very sparingly for TFC this season, and that was a shame. I hope FC Dallas treats you well.

JDG, things may not have worked out for you here but I hope they do in Dallas. Although your play did not meet the expectations of most (including your own) I'm still sad to see you go.

On another note, congrats on leaving what I think is the most dysfunctional organization EVER!!

Good luck bredren!!

I could never get over the money he made vs what he brought to the team. But it's not his fault for taking money that was offered to him. Good luck JDG.

I think that he is a very good CDM by MLS standards, but he failed to make the players around him better, as I had hoped, instead he let the level of play around him bring down his game.

I am still a fan, but I have to say that on the whole for TFC he underachieved.

I wish de Guzman success except for when he plays against us. I hope he can regain his form and be a beast for the CMNT once more

Hard to appreciate an enormously over-paid player who had 3 HORRIBLE games for every GOOD one....

Best of luck to him. I really wanted him to work out here in Toronto, and was a favourite player of mine even before he came. He had some dominating games esp. in the CCL in the middle of the park (also one of my consistently best players in FM :p)

Best of luck to ya Julian, I will always be a fan of ya and look forward to September when your back with the national team.
I always felt he got a lot of blame for our FO's mistakes and it sucks to see him go like this.... I really wanted to see him stay as a regular player making 2-300k

Good Luck JDG. I dont think you would have received so much stick from us supporters if it was not for the expectations that your contract put on you. You were not a bad player by any means, but definitely not worth the big money that MLSE stupidly paid you.

Can't wait to see him miraculously score a long range goal from outside the box next time he comes to BMO (and plays against us). Its just the way of MLS, the "Terry" Syndrome.

Above average player but needs good players around him to step his own game up. Never really had that here. Hopefully he is productive for Dallas, has a few years left in him for sure.

He was a great player in CCL and knew how to pick off pass happy opponents.

His tenure marked the passage from our bewildered but still naive love for this shiny new thing to cold hard "supporter through all the crappola" reality. We are wiser because of his presence, though not because of anything he actually did.

Lombardo was a better player and tried harder most nights, I don't recall him receiving an appreciation thread.

All the best to Julian. He is an amazing guy, always had a smile on his face when interacting with fans. Very open and easy to talk to. I will miss seeing him play in TFC red.

I know its been said a million times, but its too bad that his contract overshadowed his play. If it wasn't for his huge paycheque, his criticism would not be as huge (although still warranted). Good luck in the Future and see you in September against Panama!
